Thanks to both of you. I appreciate it.
The 'Blessed' plot
The analysis refers to a document, not itself provided, dated May 1999 in which Saddam's older son Uday ordered "special operations, assassinations and bombings for the centres and traitor symbols in London, Iran and the self-ruled areas of [Kurdish Northern Iraq]."
These were presumably to be against Iraqi opposition groups.
There is then this sentence in the article: "Preparations for 'Blessed July', a regime-directed wave of 'martyrdom' operations against targets in the West were well under way at the time of the coalition invasion."
What these targets might have been is not stated and the plans, like so many drawn up by the Iraqis, came to nothing, it seems.
The report in PDF
Yesterday I read an anti Iraq War column in my local leftist rag where a commie writer insisted yet that there was no connection between Hussein and Al-Qaeda. Unfortunately I can't find the guy's e-mail address because I would like to ask him that in light of recent developments, how he would like his crow served. The idiot's name is Steven Greenhut, and he writes for the Orange County Register.
I have yet to read or hear anything in Big Media about these latest developments which conclusively prove our case against Hussein. Fox has to get on this and trumpet this loudly. It may be preaching to the choir, but a fair share of libs might see it. And for the life of me, if an ex-Dem senator like Kerrey announces this, why doesn't the Bush admin shout this news out?
"What does CAS mean, if you please?"
Chemical Abstract Service, I believe.
The left blew off the Verona Papers. They'll try to ignore this as well.
bttt
That's why we have to keep this up front here in FR.
BUMP!
I was surprised by Kerrey's comments but I'm not surprised at the non-reaction from Bush. PR is just not the forte of his Administration. They just don't have the killer instinct that it takes to deal with the MSM.
