Southern Californians protest nothing...usually. The lifestyle is as wide-open and apathetic as its sprawl of homes from the Mexican border north into Ventura County. I'm a native Angeleno, which means I was born in Los Angeles -- East Los Angeles to be exact, so don't bull me about being rooted somewhere else.
...
There are two main reasons I left Los Angeles in 1991: Rampant crime and the influx of illegal aliens from Mexico -- and those two reasons are connected statistics show. Now, on 25 March 2006, the illegal aliens took their stomp to the streets of Los Angeles with what seems to be a clear message: "We are here, we are illegal, and proud to be Mexican."
Anyone who disagrees is called a racist.

Mexicans don't really look like Native Americans. Native Americans look East Asian (strong Mongoloid features); while Mexicans look like Arabs or mixed Malays.
The first ones to get here were descendants of the same parents the Eskimos and Asians call their ancestors, then. Thank you for explaining this just now, as it was fairly appropriate at the moment.
You are correct!
Some Freeper in NC can hardly be expected to rally for this cause. They are mourning the recent NCAA B'ball embarassment and still pine for the Confederacy back there.
It's Men like you John who must take the lead. Grass roots. Talk it up at the local level. This what our wonderful homeland is all about.
Thank you!
When her elder father was feeling bad he would come to visit from south of Mexicali and they would call 9/11 to get his an ambulance ride to the emergency room where he would be treated at no expense.

There certainly cannot be any question as to our governments complacency and attitude in this entire matter. The entire Congress and the President should be impeached over it.
Excuse me? CBart95? What did John post that deserves that sort of reaction?
Do you have anything of merit to say here?
Maybe. Maybe not. Why are you sitting in judgement anyway? You didn't even have to post anything on the thread, you know. The article is interesting and, as John said, short and pithy. You have a problem with that?
They were successful with several of us.
I'm sorry you ran into that...it's ugly...and unfair...and doesn't belong on FR. But it's here."
Yep...
Last year during the Minutemen controversy several Freepers were indeed banned/suspended for supporting the Minutemen while the Free Republic Open Border Lobbyists (FROBLS) tabbed "racists."
We've just recently seen more of the same, calling those opposed to the Dubai Port deal "Xenophobe," "racist," and "Muslim bashers."
The Left usually resorts to this technique of demonizing when they are unable to prove their point on an issue.
It's not so much that Los Angeles used to be part of Mexico is a lie. It was part of Mexico. But very few Mexicans actually lived in the states annexed by the USA during the 1840's. There was no air condition or adequate water irrigation, for example. And from whom did those people get Mexico from? The Spaniards, who conquered the Aztecs & Mayas to get it. Those tribes had previously conquered indigenous tribes such as the Olmecs, the Teotihuacanis and others to get it. Is it not a double standard to criticize the USA's claim to it when they got it the same way? And has the USA not done a far better job of making it habitable?
Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina had earlier landclaims to most of California. These were surrendered to the United States. When Mexico gained independence from Spain, that didn't resolve those pre-existing American claims.
Thanks, but CBart95 had a legitimate concern with the essay. It didn't specify that the cause of the problem is in leadership we've failed to hold responsible for the invasion.
I think he and I have come to a good understanding on the matter.
I see now. Glad you two came to an agreement. :o)
No worries. American patriots have always been quick to take issue with others. Writing the first constitution was nothing but one long argument after another.
We've just recently seen more of the same, calling those opposed to the Dubai Port deal "Xenophobe," "racist," and "Muslim bashers."----
Indeed.... George Bush has trained his fan club well. It's remarkable how similar the angry defensiveness of the Prez and the 'Bots sound when either of them are challenged on their bullcrap.
I've come to understand that the reason George has been so strong and uncompromising on defending America from Islamist terrorists is because it's difficult to sell damaged merchandise.

I actually think these rallies are a good thing: but only if we get a real big one and deply a couple of infantry divisions around it and arrest the lot of them, sort out the illegals and deport every last illegal. Not only would I make illegal entry into the US a felony, but I would make anyone who entered illegally a second time after having been deported an "outlaw" in the ancient common law sense: one whom the law does not in any way protect, and therefore subject to being killed without reason or penalty.
"ICE" could have had a field day with the L.A. rally! They would have needed 10,000+ buses running to Mexico and back!
To turn our backs on one inch of this country was a big mistake.
"It is not racist to ask immigrants to assimilate. It is not racist to expect people to obey the law. But it is racist when you oppose the OBL agenda. Sounds like a familiar refrain..."
Want to shut them up? Ask them what "race" Hispanic is. These are the tried and true tactics of Marxist agitators all over the world. Most people have become to smart to fall for this bull anymore. I guess George Bush still thinks it's working.
"Yet while calling others racist, they don't mind that English language is being lost here, or that Anglo-Saxon traditions are being eradicated"
Don't you get it? Anglo Saxon traditions *ARE* racist!!! You will shortly be sent to a diversity re-education camp.....
