I have sent the following two letters, one to my senators, and the other to the President regrding illegal immigration and the critical need to face up to it directly, stop the politics, and address the issue from a standpoint of American national security. I urge everyone to letters of their own:
TO MY SENATORS:
Senators Mike Crapo and Larry CraigAND TO THE PRESIDENT:
Washington, DC
RE: Immigration legislation
Dear Senators Crapo and Craig,
I'm writing to ask you to oppose any immigration bill that includes any form of guest worker, or any other amnesty-like provision that rewards those who have broken our laws in getting into this country. Also, in the strongest terms possible, I urge you to allow a vote on the Sensenbrenner immigration bill that has already passed the House of Representatives.
Until the federal government is willing to strongly enforce the immigration laws that are already on the books, Americans will be highly skeptical of any additional promises to enforce a new and deeply flawed approach. If recent history is an accurate guide, this so-called guest worker notion would only encourage a new wave of illegal aliens and make America 's uncontrolled and unacceptable immigration debacle even worse than it is now.
Such legislation is a bad idea not only because it creates a transparent path to amnesty, but also because it would reduce work opportunities, depress wages, and lower worker protection for Americans. Further, it would be impossible to administer and even more unlikely to be enforced.
In my estimation, on of the most important job you have to do right now is to SECURE OUR BORDER against illegal immigration. Like millions of Americans, I'm sick and tired of the "inside the beltway" politics on this issue; I will listen to no more excuses or sophistry regarding this issue. Senator, we need you and your collegues to pass true border security legislation, such as the Sensenbrenner bill already passed by the House.
Please, oppose any immigration bill that includes any guest worker amnesty-like provisions. I will be watching your vote on this issue very closely and urging everyone I know to do the same. As with abortion, this issue is a show stopper for me. Anyone not addressing this issue directly, and in such a manner as to stop the flood, support our laws, and end this invasion will simply not get my vote.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
Jeff Head

RE: Immigration legislation
Dear President Bush,
I'm writing to let you know that I have asked both of my senators here in Idaho, (Senator's Craig and Capo) to oppose any immigration bill that includes any form of guest worker, or any other amnesty-like provision that rewards those who have broken our laws in getting into this country. Also, in the strongest terms possible, I have urged them to allow a vote on the Sensenbrenner immigration bill that has already passed the House of Representatives.
In my estimation, and with all due respect Mr. President, one of the most important job you have to do right now is to SECURE OUR BORDER against illegal immigration. Like millions of Americans, I'm sick and tired of the "inside the beltway" politics on this issue; I will listen to no more excuses or sophistry regarding it. Mr. President, we need you to push for and help pass true border security legislation, such as the Sensenbrenner bill already passed by the House.
Please, push forward legislation that does not include any amnesty-like provisions, such as the Sensenbrenner bill. I will be watching my senators vote on this issue very closely and urging everyone I know to do the same. As with abortion, this issue is a show stopper for me. Anyone not addressing this issue directly, and in such a manner as to stop the flood, support our laws, and end this invasion will simply not get my support or vote any longer.
Thank you for your time and attention, Mr. President, and God bless and keep you...and guide you...as you deal with the critical issues facing our nation along with the war we are engaged in. In my estimation, this issue and the latter are directly linked and part and parcel of the same..
Sincerely,
Jeff Head

In order to have the same impact on the current U.S. population as the Ellis Island immigration did, your current immigration number would have to be almost 18 million.
By any unbiased estimate, we have surpassed 20 million illegals. Of course if amnesty passes, the number will soar to 30 plus million due to fraud.
BFLR
Tell me the name of one politician who will be willing to stand up and say, "No more free education in any public school for illegal alien children."
How do the majority of voters in your Congressional Distric feel about that issue?
If they are sick of paying taxes to enable illegal activity, that Congressman could be.............you.
For any problem in life, you have to identify the root cause and then deal with it.
Illegal aliens flock to the U.S. because of the Willy Sutton Rule: "That's where the money is."
Businesses hire illegal aliens because of the Willy Sutton Rule: "That's where the money is."
Congressmen look the other way regarding illegal aliens when American business donors ask them to because of the Willy Sutton Rule: "That's where the money is."
Follow the money!
Unless you deal with the Willy Sutton Rule, 50 foot high fences on the border won't stop the flood of illegals into the U.S.
We need to:
1. Identify and provide for the LEGITIMATE low-cost and low-skill labor needs of American business. IMHO, the Guest Worker Visa Program is the way to do this.
2. Once the Guest Worker Visa Program provides for those legitimate needs, hammer the employers that employ foreign workers without Guest Worker Visas. Every time that a raid discovers an illegal foreign worker without a Guest Worker Visa, the employer gets slammed with a $10,000.00 fine for each violation. Rinse and repeat as often as necessary.
If our Congress and President grant amnesty to millions of invaders, I will be in line to demand reparations, they will have given my country away without my consent.
I'll put my question in more direct terms: how much longer do you think English will be our primary language? At my estimate, it'll be less than 50 years at this rate.
Or do you care? I doubt that you do. Spanish would be just fine for you.
Issue being public education for illegal children. It's a good question. The more Hispanics we have, the less concern we'll see for these kinds of issues. We're already dangerously close to the moment when demographics will dictate the outcome of democratic decision-making.
By the numbers, the day will come soon when the majority of Americans prefer to be described as Hispanic. Restrictions on immigration from poverty-stricken and lawless Latin-American countries will be much harder to pass through Congress then.
Some food for thought.
The balance of authority changed when the feds started deciding how much money states would get from taxes and our Senators moved to DC. That's when governors became puppets to the presidents wishes.
Good letter Jeff, and I agree that until the borders are secured, there should be no guest worker portion. Do the first, and the second can come later.
I think the recent protests showed everyone just how many illegals are here in the country (and believe me, not all of them showed up for the protests).
With millions swarming in the streets, it made the US look like a third world country.
If we had to trust Bush, #2 would never happen. We would have a Guest Worker Visa Program for 50 million Mexicans and then they would talk for ten years about slowing the program.
1903.... I hate to be the one to break your delusions of Anglo-Saxon ethnic purity but you are 100 years behind the times. America ceased being predominantly "Anglo-Saxon" quite a while ago...... In 1900, only 51 percent of the U. S. population was native white and of native parentage (Palen, 1987, p. 210)......Polybius
I'll put my question in more direct terms: how much longer do you think English will be our primary language? At my estimate, it'll be less than 50 years at this rate. Or do you care? I doubt that you do. Spanish would be just fine for you.........John Filson
So, now you are off your "Anglo-Saxon" ethnic purity kick.
Are you one of those people with grandparents named Kowalski, O'Reilly, Olsen and Schmidt that fancy themselves to be "Anglo-Saxon", even though they do not have a single drop of "Anglo-Saxon" blood running through their veins, because English is the only language they ever learned?
Did you only now discover that the "Anglo-Saxon" population tipping point in America occurred a century ago and that your great-grandparents were not considered part of the "Anglo-Saxon" ethnic purity club back in 1903?
As far as English is concerned, English will remain the lingua franca of the U.S. and is already the lingua franca in Europe as well as in international trade.
The language pattern for immigrants is always the same.
The immigrant parents are non-English-speakers or bilingual and the second generation is bilingual. America's Ace of Aces of World War One, Eddie Rickenbacker, wrote in his autobiography that his parents spoke German at home as that was the only language they knew and that he used to have to fight his way to and from school each day because he spoke English with a very heavy German accent.
By, at most, the third generation, the immigrant language is almost always lost.
For example, as late as the 1940's, Yiddish thrived in New York City with Yiddish newspapers, Yiddish radio and Yiddish theater.
Fifty year later in New York City, Yiddish is a dead language.
Great letters.
Get a grip on reality.
In 2004, the percentage of the U.S. population that was so-called "Hispanic or Latino" was..............Gasp!!.......Shudder!!.............14.1%
Population of the United States by Race and Hispanic/Latino Origin, Census 2000 and July 1, 2004
Second and third generation "Hispanics" also have a very high intermarriage rate:
Are my blonde, blue-eyed, half-genetically Spanish, quarter-genetically Polish and quarter-genetically Danish kids a threat to your vision of "Anglo-Saxon" purity in America?
You do not own your own business or work with numbers, do you?
"Demographic differences" are not determined by absolute numbers. They are determined by the number as it relates to the TOTAL POPULATION!
As I documented before in Post 79:
"In 1890, the U.S. population was a little over 62 million. 3.7 million immigrants in the 1890's represented 6% of the entire U.S. population. 3.8 million in 2006 represents a little over 1% of the U.S. population."
In addition, as I documented in Post 96, by the third generation, most "Hispanics" are intermarrying themselves out of existence as an ethnic group since third generation Hispanics have a 60% intermarriage rate.
Mexican flags are everywhere. Anti-Anglo sentiment is stronger and stronger. This is what you're advocating, ....
Wrong!
Read over my posts that deal strictly with the immigration issues and not your xenophobia and you will see that I have provided practical measures to cut off illegal immigration at the knees.
As I wrote before:
"I have posted several times outlining specific measures to deal with and drastically reduce illegal immigration. I object to illegal immigrants because they are illegal and I also object to many legal immigrants and some native born Americans because they do not have a love for America."
My beef with you is not that I approve of illegal immigration. My posts prove that I advocate a tougher stand against illegal immigration than most posters on this thread believe is politically possible.
My beef with you is that you base your entire case on the fact that, apparently, you can't stand Hispanics in general and Mexicans in particular and have based your case on preserving an "Anglo-Saxon" tipping point that was tipped 100 years ago.
If your definition of "Anglo-Saxon" is simply English-speaking, then my family has been "Anglo-Saxon" since the 1860's and, by the third generation, all immigrant groups lose their immigrant language and......Poof.....become "Anglo".
I would gladly have one million of these immigrant so-called "Hispanics" as Americans:
U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales
Rather than of one million of these native-born so-called "Anglos" as Americans:
If we had to trust Bush, #2 would never happen. We would have a Guest Worker Visa Program for 50 million Mexicans and then they would talk for ten years about slowing the program.
I do not trust any politicians, Republican or Democrat, as far as I can throw them.
What I am trying to do is identify the root cause of the problem and attack it.
Right now, the illegal aliens have Big Business and the Congressmen that Big Business buys on their side.
We need to change that dynamic.
I get the impression the president and congress are planning an end run by increasing the amount of legal immigration allowed into this country. I personally don't believe we need it and will oppose that as well.
