Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wisc., says he's not going to be deterred by the wave of demonstrations protesting his bill to crack down on illegal immigration.

Responding to a pro-illegal immigration demonstration in Milwaukee on Thursday, Sensenbrenner called the protest "impressive," but added: "Many have tried to confuse the difference between legal and illegal immigration."

The House Republicans are true men, but we have to let the Senate know we want HR 4437 passed. The Senate Judiciary Committee will meet on Tuesday (I think) hiding behind closed doors to make a mockery of their constituents' desires and of the Sensenbrenner bill waiting for them.

Well the Republican Congress last week passed a bill to make being a illegal immigrant in the U.S. a felony. The Senate version of the bill is actually stricter than that. Being a election year, they might have finally gotten the message.

?? I guess I haven't seen that bill, only the ones with amnestry provisions disguised as guest-workers. Which bill are you thinking of - and more importantly is the Senate going to ignore it?

"The parents of these children are hard-working and display a family atmosphere and commitment you never see anymore among legal citizens of every other ethnic origin."

Double lie. Have you ever worked alongside illegal immigrants? Most are interested in doing the least they possibly can without getting fired. Family atmosphere? Commitment? WAKE UP! Try massive amounts of domestic abuse, alcoholism, street-gangs and violence. Come down from the ivory tower and take a look at what's really going on.

"No..what I meant was that my ancestry is German and Italian...and that I show no allegiance to them just because I share their DNA."

Quick question:

Did your ancestors come here legally, or were they CRIMINALS who broke the law for financial gain?

"Once the baby boomers are gone this country as we know it will go down the dustbin of history."

Baby Boomers, with attitudes like yours, are PRECISELY the problem with this country. I'm guessing you'd just like to see the Social Security gravy train extended long enough for you to cash in.

"Is he a "true American Patriot" or is he just feeding us what we want to hear, while he knows full well the bill will never pass?"

The tide is turning up on the Hill right now, and HB 4437 has an excellent chance to pass the Senate in potent form. We're at a tipping point, and need to keep the pressure on right now. We also need to oppose the several forms of backdoor amnesty being paraded as serious reform. Anyone who feels strongly about this, please take a moment to contact your congressional representatives and the President, and make your voice heard.

Numbers USA offers a free fax service that takes less than 60 seconds to use (slightly longer if you write your own original text): Patriotism Made Easy

Those who oppose it do so because they know it will work.

Tammy, securing our Border is going to work, or else WHY would we be seeing such a protest when it comes to building that wall?

Bush's Guest Worker Program, is going to fall flat on it's face.

I call it a "Guess Worker" program, since it's full of "guesses" to ponder, not the least of which is "Guess when they will go back home"? (never)

Which is that they must by law remain with their biological parents...and that includes deportation

I might have misunderstood your intent and I'm sorry if that's true. The two pictures just struck me as having nothing to do with the each other because the child was so young that you would only assume that she was born in the US and the mother was asking if you would separate her from her US citizen child. Elian was not a citizen of the US and he was sent back to his father because he had no mother in the US and his father did not want to come here.

The question the mother is asking is just dumb because if her child is a US citizen no one is going to deport either of them. If her child is not a US citizen no one is going to separate them at gunpoint. As you stated, they will both be deported. Again, I'm sorry if I didn't understand your intent.

The boy belonged with his father. I have little use for Alan Keyes but he was absolutely right when he said, "If the boy's mother was in Havana does anyone doubt tha he would be on the first plane back ? Would anyone, anywhere support taking Elian from his mother ? So why are father's expendable ? Why does no one have any respect for a father's right to raise his son ?"

I would agree with you if this had been a normal child kidnapping. But, if the situation had been reversed and the father had died while taking the child to the US, I think the reaction would have been the same towards sending the child back to live with his mother in a Communist dictatorship.

To you....I'm full of sh*t but you offer nothing to the conversation. It's what I'd expect when debating a liberal.

Are you a whiney liberal?

That's rhetorical so please get lost and don't post to me.

Try again to explain to me why you excuse the fraud and deceit of illegal immigration and illegal tax evasion resulting in lower wages in the US but choose not to excuse the fraud and deceit you perceive in the Iraq war.

I'm sure we both agree that if the government could make money taxing the air we breathe, they would do it.

Yet, they literally turn their back to enforcing immigration laws.

Why do you suppose that is? Because I'm right and you're wrong, that's why.

Thank you, for being gracious, even though my reply was just barely courteous. I realize it's hard not to get emotional over these two issues. I'm guilty of misunderstanding and going overboard in my replies, too.
