Today I received the following FReepmail from Houston Curmudgeon. I think his idea is a wonderful one. I told him I would pose his question regarding what the plate should say to you folks.

I would also like to present a traveling trophy to be presented in ElRoy's name to the best shot with the biggest caliber gun each time the event is held. It's a chrome drilling bit, small and about 15 #'s. Perhaps I could get a plate made for it ... what should it say?

As much as I hate to suggest it, you're going to have to limit the possibilities to hand-held or at least shoulder-mounted weaponry, or I'm gonna cheat and win.

I don't think I can make it this year, but I'll see if I can rearrange my pre-Momorial Day schedule and sneak back home to Texas for the fest. But if not, I'll touch off a few for ya at the Wyoming Appleseed shoot.

How the heck did I forget to put you on the ping list?

What the heck are you doing in Wyoming?

I don't think the gun range allows those types of weapons . . . I'll check though.

You got us there Archy!

If we limit it to shoulder-mounted weaponry I can bring the .50BMG and one round.

I should do ok with it on the pistol range!
