Is Neal Gabler jealous of Helen Thomas' status as a leading Bush media antagonist? You might think so, judging by the barbs Gabler aimed Thomas' way on this evening's Fox News Watch.
In discussing Thomas' pointed exchange with President Bush during this past week's press conference, Gabler, whose sole regular media job would seem to be his weekly appearance on Fox News Watch, did claim that Thomas' question as to the president's motivation in invading Iraq was a good one. But Gabler prefaced that comment by gratuitously observing: "Helen has asked dumb questions in her time."
Later, Gabler referred to Thomas as "a dotty old woman."
Palpably surprised by Gabler's barb, conservative Newsday columnist Jim Pinkerton repeated it questioningly: "a dotty old woman?"
Gabler took the opportunity to attempt to wriggle off the hook-of-his-own-making: "That is how she is portrayed by the right-wing press."

Helen Thomas typifies the leftwing nut-case media.

I hope she never goes away.
Gabler was more unhinged this week than he has been recently. He spews hate for FOX news but evidently likes the paycheck.
Gabler has the guts to say what the rest of the world knows already, and the media wimps can't back him up? Feh!
No, Neal is jealous of her masculinity. Who is he, anyway (other than an annoying short twit)?
Gabler is a creep. The little t*rd bashes FOX every week, but stays right there. I thought it was interesting he was the only one to even come close to telling the truth about thomas, even though he backtracked immediately.
I was also amused at jane hall's defense of cindy sheehan. I guess skanks of a feather stick together.
I've actually stopped watching this show because of Gabler. He's a left-wing nitwit, stupid and smug about it. Who needs the annoyance he provides?
Well, I'd be taking my nightly Prilosec anyhow. Figure I might as well have something for it to act as an antidote on ;-)
O'Reilly took eric burns, the host, to task for letting gabler take over the show and talk all over the other panelists every single week. Apparently burns thinks people watch the show just to get mad at gabler, and refuses to reign him in. If I was burns, I'd put a shock collar on gabler and give him a buzz every time he butted in.

I have often wondered just what his credentials were to call himself a journalist. I have never seen anything he has written nor seen him on any other news show. In fact, the only time I have ever seen him outside of Fox News Watch is him commenting on some hollywood crap when he was apparently younger on A&E Bio channel. Apparently he works for low wages.

Oh come on, now! Watch Gabler for pure entertainment value, this zany little Marxist! I'd love to ask him whether he even accepts his salary, since it's paid in filthy capitalist dollars squeezed from the downtrodden proletariat.
Fox Newswatch is unwatchable! And Gabler is the reason!
My thoughts exactly. Why does FNC support his anti Fox bile?
Only if she is sitting mototcycle!!!!
