I walked through the square in front of the City Hall of Dallas today while the pro-illegal protesters were there. What a nice group of people. Really. Being a middle-aged pretty obviously conservative white guy got me a few smiles and "Hello"s.
Mainly, the types of people who cross the border illegally are the sort we should be attracting to this country legally. I really dislike the "Illegal" part. They shouldn't do that. But I think there is an excellent demographic here that if we provided a safe and sane border policy, we'd be happy to have many of these people.
Unguarded borders are a National Security Risk. Illegality of immigration imposes many other criminal elements into society that are unhelpful. Some programatically controlled immigration plan would be a big improvement over what we have today. I don't have a silver bullet for what that is.
But let's be careful to segregate the many difficulties cited above from the vast majority of the illegal immigrant population. I feel much better and safer walking through a group of illegals and their families having a very nice protest march than I would with a bunch of leftists. The leftists would happily physically attack me. These folks are the salt of the earth, and I'd trust them with my life.
Before y'all flame me, let me note that I believe the only effective border control will be a double row of fences, land mines and .50 cal machine gun nests every .5 miles. If America is prepared to do that (which I doubt), we can actually control the border. Short of that, the economic incentives to come here are too great. Nothing will stop them short of death. I'll support the landmines, but I doubt we can get more than 20% of Americans to agree to mow down border crossers. So I think we're stuck with something else, to be designed. So until then, let's recognize what I saw today. Most of these folks are really nice people!
In terms of security what people forget is should someone want to come to America and do us harm and should they find our borders to the north or south impenetrable all they need to do is get a boat.
I'm the first to admit, I too would run, jump crawl or do anything to get out of that above ground cesspool known as Mexico/Latin America.
But when I was caught and sent home, I'd certainly understand why.
Import the Third world, become the Third World.
Actually, both probably posess inherently criminal mindsets. Please do go to LA, and say anything to the effect that criminals are actually criminals during the middle of this ILLEGAL immigrant rally, and you're likely to be torn limb-from-limb. Don't fool yourself, or try to fool anyone here.
Someone who has broken a Federal law likely has even less respect for the rest of our legal code, our society in general, or the individual American citizens who compose it.
Please do consult with some American citizens who've worked along-side illegal aliens. The majority of them bear ill-will towards American citizens and America. They may lick the hand that feeds them now, but they'd gladly bite it if they could get away with it.
Most of these folks are really nice people
I know these people are "NICE" people but where have you been??? Are you a property owner?Do you pay taxes?If you own property then you need to know this.I'm 59 yrs old and I pay school taxes....alot of 'em.I don't even have a child in school!But,my school taxes go up every year.Why?Because my Government does not uphold the Constitution of the USA and hasn't for many, many years.It's because they were not policed and we allowed them to do as THEY pleased.WE get lazy and think that they know WHAT's BEST for us.That's a lie from the DEVIL!
If I were the owner of a large sucessful business(or small sucessful business) and I had a lot of money invested in it..Do you think the wise thing for me to do would be to just let the employees run my business and give 'em the check book and go fishing?or..watch over the investment because I'm the BOSS(owner) so my grand children would have an inheritance and look back on me and say"My grandfather was a wise man and I'll do as he did and carry this business on to the next generation"?
It filters all the way down to the local Government,even to the cities'.Just think about what happened at the Towers for a moment.IT was a DIRECT result of this.The American people stopped Tending the Store and the Employees just made up their own Rules.
Hey,I love Mexican people,I love their culture and I love 'em because they're people and I even learned their language.. because I wanted to.I thank God for them.
They are "nice" people,...But,I can't let emotions run my business for me..emotions are usually wrong and they get me in trouble.We run the BUSINESS(USA)based on our forefathers victories and mistakes,ideals,laws(Constitution)and by the Word of God, both already written down.It's wisdom and knowledge and experience,mostly by the Grace of God and none of our on doing considering all the mistakes we've made so far.
So, who was to blame for 9/11?I hear many names called to be the ones at fault that killed all those people in the Towers.In reality Brad...it was you and I!!and all Americans for being so lackadaisical with no diligence to enforce the laws(rules)that were already written down on paper with good "old ordinary" common sese.How can we apolige to them Brad?We can't!!But..we can go back to plan "A" and start taking care of business.The President is just an employee(the forman)no matter what his name is.Your the Boss Brad..tell him how you want your business to be run and don't let emotions get in the way of building this country your grandchildren's future is at stake.As for me,I say America cannot afford 12 million people who waded across the Rio Grande just to tell us how wrong we are.
