We are not a "nation of immigrants." This is both a factual error and a warm-and-fuzzy non sequitur. Eighty-five percent of the residents currently in the United States were born here. Sure, we are almost all descendants of immigrants. But we are not a "nation of immigrants."
(Isnt it funny, by the way, how the politically correct multiculturalists who claim we are a nation of immigrants are sooo insensitive toward Native American Indians, Native Alaskans, Native Hawaiians, and descendants of black slaves who did not immigrate here in any common sense of the word?)
Even if we were a nation of immigrants, it does not explain why we should be against sensible immigration control.

Good 'ol Fox New Channel...the LEAD stories are the murder in Tennessee and the murders in Seattle. Get your priorities straight, you idiots. To the nation as a whole; these murders are irrrelevant. The situation in the Southwest threatens us ALL, along with YOUR children and grandchildren.
I noticed! That place is completely Faux News Channel.
DON'T YOU BIGOTS GET IT?? (Illegals are only doing the protesting Americans won't do)

In terms of security what people forget is should someone want to come to America and do us harm and should they find our borders to the north or south impenetrable all they need to do is get a boat.
EXCELLENT characterization of the situation! Worth repeating:
Bush's fault, literally. His second-term is circling the drain over this issue.
I don't get it...why are they in America ..screaming Mexico??????
because these pillars of society consider it Northern Mexico
You forgot hate-filled, fascist bigots and oppressors of the innocent peoples of color of the third world.
Support our Minutemen Patriots!
Be Ever Vigilant!
Isn't it interesting how a group of genuine American patriots who put everything on the line to defend the country in places like Iraq and Afghanistan immediately become a bunch of lazy, illiterate deadbeats with a chip on their shoulders and their hands out for a freebie when they come home and return to civilian life.
They do have them straight. They're the GWB Channel.
You get no argument from me. There was a time when I thought G.W. Bush was eligible to join those fine Presidents on Mt. Rushmore. No more. I voted for him twice and am sorely disappointed.
You are right, there are some good things accomplished in his administration, but this illegal/border problem overwhelms the good things. This is truly awful.
There is no labor shortage here. That is a bald-faced lie. There are currently 12 million able-bodied US citizens of working age either unemployed or on entitlement programs. Most would return to gainful employment in short-order were it not for the deflationary wage pressures created by illegal immigration. There is NO job Americans won't do provided it pays enough to take care of the bills, and keep the family fed. There is NO job currently unfilled due to a lack of manpower.
I'm the first to admit, I too would run, jump crawl or do anything to get out of that above ground cesspool known as Mexico/Latin America.
But when I was caught and sent home, I'd certainly understand why.
Import the Third world, become the Third World.
Actually, both probably posess inherently criminal mindsets. Please do go to LA, and say anything to the effect that criminals are actually criminals during the middle of this ILLEGAL immigrant rally, and you're likely to be torn limb-from-limb. Don't fool yourself, or try to fool anyone here.
Someone who has broken a Federal law likely has even less respect for the rest of our legal code, our society in general, or the individual American citizens who compose it.
Please do consult with some American citizens who've worked along-side illegal aliens. The majority of them bear ill-will towards American citizens and America. They may lick the hand that feeds them now, but they'd gladly bite it if they could get away with it.
Nope. The present situation is Bush's fault because he's failed to take action even though his party controls both houses of congress and the executive branch, has for a number of years, and he failed to take action to address the problem even after 9/11.
If he gave his approval, serious reform would take effect in less than a month in the form of passage of HB 4437.
If it weren't for the "right"-and I enclosed that word in quotation marks for a specific reason-then we wouldn't have the disastrous situation we're facing right now, i.e. 12 million-AT THE LEAST-illegal aliens roaming around this country ad libitum.
