Seriously, though, there's not necessarily a contradiction....he might have wanted them out to evade inspectors. But what it really points out yet again is that President Bush made a terrible error in highlighting the WMD reason for invasion when we had all the justification in UN resolutions/violations of ceasefire.
And if we just HAD to talk about WMD, we didn't have to chase phantoms--Iraq was KNOWN to have yellowcake and lowgrade uranium, monitored by inspectors--until Saddam stopped allowing the inspectors in.
