Authorities Say Minister's Wife Confesses

The wife of a minister found dead in the church parsonage has confessed to shooting him and fleeing to Alabama, where she was found the following night with their three young daughters, authorities said Friday.
Mary Winkler told investigators she shot her husband on Wednesday, Selmer Police investigator Roger Rickman said.

The article clearly states that adultery was not the reason. However they refused to reveal what the motive was, for now.

That was not an "automatic assumption" at all. I cited two cases that were adulterous and ended by saying that it may not be adultery or spousal abuse, indicating that we don't know yet.

Every time I look at these little girls, it seems there is a sad look.
I hope they release more information soon.
There is so much speculation out there and we hear so much about child abuse.
I heard someone today say their church is a cult.
My daughter-in-law went to the same college this couple did, her father is a minister for the Church of Christ, in fact, he knows the young ministers father. They are in no way a cult. I think of lot of good people will be hurt by remarks like this.
