Hillary: GOP (Immigration) Bill Criminalizes Jesus
WND ^ | March 23, 2006

Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton invoked Jesus to argue against a House immigration bill that would make illegal presence in the United States a felony.

"It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the Scriptures," Clinton said, according to the Associated Press, "because this bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself."

Clinton delivered her remarks as the Senate prepared to take up a version of the measure, which passed the House in December.

Unlawful presence in the U.S. currently is a civil offense.

Flanked by New York immigration activists, Clinton called the bill "mean-spirited" and inconsistent with Republicans' professed support for faith and values, the AP said.

Clinton said she hoped the Senate Judiciary Committee would come up with a compromise that would remove the House's severe penalties.

The New York senator said, however, she would back legislation to strengthen U.S. borders and seek more cooperation with Mexico and other neighboring countries.

She also wants to establish a way for the nation's approximately 11 million illegal immigrants to gain citizenship.

While recognizing the distress illegal immigration causes border communities, Clinton insisted Republicans are taking a great political risk in pushing the House bill forward.

"We want the outcome to be that they're on the wrong side of the politics as well as the wrong side of history and American values," she said.

As WorldNetDaily reported, a bill that would give millions of illegal aliens in the United States the opportunity to earn citizenship advanced last week when members of the Senate Judiciary Committee signaled likely passage of a proposal by Sens. Edward Kenney, D-Mass., and John McCain, R-Ariz.

Though a committee vote will not be held until after a week-long congressional recess, likely March 27, committee members appeared ready to back the Kennedy-McCain bill.

If Senator Rick Santorum made the same comment as Hillary Clinton, He would be villified in the Press

Gee, Hilary, which is it? Be tough on homeland defense or wink at open borders? I know, you'll try to take both positions.

Lucky for her, you probably can fool most of the people most of the time.

Well, Jesus would already be in jail for turning water into wine without some sort of license, so...

Forgive me, but I don't believe Hilary Clinton knows Jesus

If you saw her giving this speach, she looked VERY uncomfortable even saying the name Jesus. Perhaps she wasn't sure how to pronounce it since it's probably the first time that word ever crossed those wrinkled lips.

Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton invoked Jesus...

They really do have no limits to their shame, do they?

Unbelievable.

When I read that statement, the mental image was the priest on Caddy Shack getting the ultimate zot.

"It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the Scriptures,"

Just stop, please. This is really embarassing.

Maybe Hillary should actually take some time to read the bible, instead of mis-quoting from it.

(Taken from Luke 2:1-21)

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judæa, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David).

Joseph and Mary were NOT illegal immigrants, they were following the laws of thier king. They went where they were commanded to go, to pay their taxes. How Hillary can equate this with illegally entering a country is beyond me.

With the nuts that are in her camp I thought they would want to criminalize Jesus.

They have, in a way. All those challenges to public Nativity scenes, public prayers, Bible studies after school on school grounds, and the Ten Commandments displayed in government buildings. All courtesy of the Red Queen's base of support. How could we also forget the obscene and inappropriate ornaments the Hildebeast allowed on the White House Christmas tree? I'll bet the blasphemous shrew snickered about that every time she looked at them.

How many sides of the immigration bill are there cause hill will be on each and every side and some that haven't even been thought about yet!
Tri-angulation has morphed into multi-angulation. What BS. She is still bubba lite, no matter how hard she tries.

“Hillary knows that we must take politics out of this decision,” said her campaign spokesman, echoing President Clinton’s position. “Elian’s future should be determined as quickly as possible through the appropriate, ongoing legal process.” The Immigration and Naturalization Service has ruled that Elian belongs with his Cuban father.

Once again, wet your finger, hold it up to the air, ....

Galilee, Judea, Egypt, Samaria, and all the rest were PROVINCES, or at the very most, vassal states of Rome.

It is no different for Jesus to wander among them at will, than for any American to visit various states & Puerto Rico, or American Samoa without a passport.

The last time I saw a picture of her in church, she was sleeping next to X-42 at President Reagan's funeral.

Actually, Jesus could probably get away with making wine out of water. He just better not ship it across state lines or else....ATF comes knocking on His door.

Looks like Hillary doesn't believe in Separation of Church and State.

What is she trying to do, turn America into a THEOCRACY?

Jesus broke customs and laws, and preached charity. So does that mean Christians or good Samaritans should help or advocate the illegal immigrant break laws ?

Well, consider Jesus didn't’t break laws to hurt people; he broke laws to help people, it was the intent of the laws Jesus was opposed to, such as being able to work on the Sabbath to help someone in need.

Illegal immigrants steal and rob civil infrastructure from the legal citizens. Illegal immigrants cut in line in front of legal migrants. So helping illegal immigrants may seem charitable but it actually hurts others. Therefore allowing illegal immigrants break immigration laws and employers break labor laws isn’t the same at all as Jesus breaking the Sabbath to be charitable to someone in need, since others are harmed when these laws are broken.

Would Jesus be in favor of harming US citizens, making them loose their Job's, hospitals, schools and higher insurance and taxes and most specifically law and order or would he be in favor of chaos and anarchy, gangs and undocumented terrorists on the loose preying on innocent people?

Furthermore, consider God is a god of justice, and order, but the chaos created by the lawlessness of plagiarizing the labor of illegal immigration at slave wages, is that truly godly?

Finally take the concept of being forgiven, Jesus didn’t just forgive anybody, he only forgave those who repented. Likewise, giving amnesty to those who have attempted to steal civil infrastructure that doesn't belong to them, by immigrating without invitation and not admitting their sin or acting remorse, or agreeing to assimilate by following the order and customs of the majority of the of people who would offer citizenship and forgiveness if they did apply and ask legitimately is not in accordance with Christian teachings, of repentance.

Therefore it just plain rhetoric to call for Christian charity to be ahead of the rule of law in a country where laws are based upon Judeo-Christian principles. We first have to recognize the sovereignty of God, and the sovereignty of Judeo-Christian principles before we can ask for his fruits.

The ironic thing about Hillary is that by election time she will have taken so many positions on so many issues that no one will know where she stands. But she will be able to claim that she stands on every side of every issue all the time, major BS. In the end it won't do her any good because she does not have the BS charisma that bubba had. She can only turn on so many chicks. Bubba had a line of sh!t that would not quit.
