>>Christian Aid Workers Freed In Iraq

(Baghdad) -- Three Christian aid workers kidnapped in Iraq have been freed following what's being described as "a planned operation mounted by the Multinational Forces in Iraq." The British Embassy has confirmed that Briton Norman Kember and two Canadian nationals -- Harmeet Sooden and Jim Loney are being evaluated by doctors and are currently in the care of consular staff. The three men were taken hostage along with a fourth member of the Christian Peacemaker Teams in late November. The body of Tom Fox, a native of Virginia, was recovered earlier this month in Baghdad.

I pray you are right. I am hoping and praying that the terrorists are defeated - I will not call them insurgents - that gives them a dignity that these murderers do not deserve. As for the useful idiots, they should thank G-d that Alzarqawi didn't go after them with his knife - remember Nick Berg? Those photos still terrify me!

They weren't released. They were rescued. CPT LIED. Not very Christian of them.

The CPT is a hypocritical organization -- It is a leftist organization more in line with Satan.

Very well written. I doubt that you will get a reply. If you do, let us know. CPT is an organization that is foremost Anti-US and will do NOTHING to acknowledge their hypocrisy. Christ had much to say about religious hypocrites

Have they bitten the hands that freed them yet?

I especially loathe how it is stated they were prepared to die, but the group is rejoicing in their being alive!!!!
and

"They knew that their only protection was in the power of the love of God and of their Iraqi and international co-workers."

EXCUUUUUUUUUUUSE me, folks, who spared these precious lives? The very people in whose face they kick sand.

These people are sick.

Presumably "charles" would equally wish to prosecute and convict a mountaineer who, through carelessly and inconsiderately falling, risks his rescuer's life. There does not seem much difference - Professor and mountaineer are each pursuing their own dangerous hobby for discreditable motives - the one to promote peace, the other to keep fit and enjoy the open air. "charles" does not say what existing offence the Professor has committed but assuming none yet covers the case the government in their zeal for new legislation may plug this loophole in the criminal code. The trouble is that the main breaches of the new offences of "being naive" and "not assessing risks properly and so causing danger to others" would be by members of HM Government. The fact is that although he was no doubt happy to be rescued, Prof Kember didn't ask and probably didn't expect to be. It is the politicians (as usual) who were happy to risk soldiers' lives and claim credit for the rescue - so if anyone is to blame it is, as usual, they. Thanks for the reply and analysis. It's a little comforting to see that it bothers other people too.

I just heard on the DC local news that someone that the US special forces captured just last night provided the info that made this rescue possible.

CPT will remain committed to challenging the injustices of the occupation, and telling the stories of those forced to live under it.

Has CPT ever told the stories of those who suffered under Saddam Hussein's occupation?

In honour of Tom's Iraqi companion, she spoke the words called out repeatedly from the mosques of Baghdad during the Shock and Awe bombing campaign in March 2003, "allah akhbar" (God is greater).

Unbelievable...an Islamic text is read at a Christian's funeral (I assume this person was a Christian.) This is what annoys me about liberal Christians. The subtle assertion here is that all religions are equal, and all worship the same God. They do not.

Oh my! I sure hope they didn't use a snarly dog or panties to get that info!!!!

Maybe they just held his hand and softly asked him" Oh, pretty please with sprinkles on it, could you tell us where the hostages are?"

I sure hope the Christians in this country denounce these moonbats for their lying and ingratitude!

They call themselves Christians, but make not one mention of the Gospel.

I could understand Christians going to Iraq to spread the Gospel, but these guys are just another bunch of Anti-Americans trying to give their cause legitimacy by putting it under a Christian flag.

I find them to be an embarassment to Christians (the real kind).

If I'm taken somewhere by force and someone else arrives and I am removed from there to a safe place, I was rescued, whether my captors are there or not.

Was it a rescue if ransom was paid?
