McCain will never get the nomination.
And this thread is proof of that
At this moment in time that is the ONLY thing I am passionately committed to ensuring. McCain's defeat in every election he runs for.
First the GOP primaries, even if I have to vote for a subpar candidate...of which they all seem to be.
Next Arizona.
He's a cancer and I blame HIM for the current state of the Republican Party. He's the principal that engineered this Liberal minority revolt in the caucus and screwed us and this administration and America in general time and again. They all got jealous of his flirtation with the MSM, without suffering consequence. As a result they seek to emulate him.
Lott may be impossible to take out right now, but McCain can be done.

McCain is a crook and he proved it with his role in the "Keating Five". "Campaign reform" for him is just his cheap, misguided way of trying to make amends and prove to himself and the world that he's not a crook. But his idea of "reform" always translates into, "Stop me before somebody comes along with a pot of money and corrupts me again!" In McCain's world, politicians need to be spared the temptation that inevitably corrupts them because they are powerless to resist. You know - - because they're all crooks. Like him.
I was a McCain supporter in the first set of primaries before the first election of W. I een piped him in at a local pubbie meeting here in VT.He wasn't a bad pubbie back then.
When did McCain change?
It was in the South Eastern Primaries , i think, North and South carolina? The Bush camp put out adds that NcCain had or would act to reduce Veteran's benefits, and that was not true, but it was enough to swing those Southern states to Bush 2 days before the primary vote in those states.
McCain has been bitter and vengeful ever since, and his sole purpose is not to win the nomination BUT to destroy the pubbie cadre that brought Dubyah forward, and open up the field to non main line candidates. I hope if McCain is successful in his attempted renovation of the pubbie party, that guys like Tom DeLay might become more viable as candidates.
I would not support McCain as a presidential candidate. He holds gudges far too long to ever be an effective President of the United States.
