John McCain, you treasonous bastard, I challenge you or any of your traitorous cohorts to find even one thread, one post, one paragraph, one sentence or even one lousy word posted to this web site that is not fully protected by the First Amendment!
And I will extend that to one chapter, one group, one poster or any group of posters on this forum. Name one assembly, petition, letter, protest, meeting or rally convened, filed, submitted, attended or supported by members of this forum that is not 100% protected and guaranteed as free speech or free assembly by the First Amendment!
Your McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform legislation is a treasonous act. You and your cohorts are attempting to subvert the Constitution of the United States of America, the very same constitution that you swore an oath to defend, so help you God! That makes you a domestic enemy of that great document and a traitor to your country. Yes, and Benedict Arnold was a war hero before he turned traitor too.

They claim to be conservatives, but they are CINOs and do not have the courage of their convictions IF they have those convictions at all. Many of your cohorts here can't stand conservatives and only want our votes and our money to elect their candidates. As I said in my last post to that other poster, nominate a conservative or lose the election. I / We are not ceding any more ground within the GOP. Our next step is out the door.
You better work hard to get a conservative on top. I'll do my part, but you can't win on principle when all you do is preach compromise.
And now that we have the Senate back, what marvels of conservative brilliance has issued forth from that body?

Don't blame the libertarians for the lack of a worthy candidate. Offer the voters a clear choice, not clones and dem lites as candidates. Blur the lines and lose. Did the GOP learn anything from that lost election? If not, why not?
I guess we disagree pretty heartily on your second sentence. Good luck to you on your endeavour. I hope you get a conservative candidate you can trust, but I won't go the third party route. Oh and I sincerely doubt that McCain will be the Republican candidate in 08.
I don't believe that Hillary or McCain will be the nominees of the people. I just hope that the GOP 'powers that be' don't try to orchestrate his coronation. If he is, the GOP will remain out of power for a generation.

Hell No. We would have all recognized them for what they were -- unconstitutional and socialist in nature and the product of a leftist -- and they would have never passed.
Everyone thinks that Rick Santorum is Mr Conservative. He proclaims that he is pro life, but helps pro aborts win election. He claims that he is pro gun, but his voting record is barely distinquishable from Arlen Specter's on the issue and Arlen is a known gun grabber.
He claimed (used to, not any longer) to be a fiscal conservative. Now he brags about the pork that he brings home. He just voted for another $7 Billion spending bill at a time when we have already busted the budget. He also voted against the cuts that Coburn tried to push through in the wake of Katrina.
This is a guy that everyone thought was on our side all the time and his record is atrocious. Why start with someone who is already a RINO?
It's better to fight the known enemy than to be stabbed in the back by one who is thought to be an ally.

Yes, plus it was a big mistake for Bush to sign it. This was a case of the Repubs bowing to media pressure to solve a problem. Bad solution either way. He too probably thought it would have been overturned as un constitutional, but liberal judges put there by liberal presidents did the damage.

Have you ever heard of the word NO!? Have you ever used it? You don't get what you want by caving in and saying yes. You don't get it by compromising early on. You don't get it by pledging undying support early on. Once you do that, you lose any possible influence that you might have had.

Well, you can read or hear it anyway that you want. I will vote for a candidate that is worthy of my vote and withhold it when he isn't. It's that simple. My candidate doesn't always win, but at least I don't feel dirty or compromised when I leave the voting booth.

Jim, I am just browsing around FR this afternoon and saw your article, which I agree with by the way. The thing that puzzles me to no end however is this.... I agree the M/F campaign "reform" act is an abomination and censor of our 1st amendment rights. So given that fact and the fact that Pres Bush was cowardly & complicit as well in signing this piece of trash.... How has this bill survived any court challenges since 2002 even in liberal courts? I would think that this would be shot down almost immediately but here it is, 4 years later and this law is still on the books? How can this be? I would think every conservative organization around would be challenging this law without letup?
And I want to thank the now-banned troll for their zotted post that had me look up this thread and read it in the first place.
