The Board of Supervisors - voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a non-binding resolution blasting the Catholic Church for its opposition to homosexual adoption.
Can we pass a binding resolution that the SF Board of Supervisors is a bunch of self important, incompetent nincompoops?
Or perhaps a fatwa?

this absolutely boggles the mind ! SF's established traditions? since WHEN? the fact that it was unanimously adopted says all that needs to be said about that formerly grand city. They ought to just rename the place Sodom and be done with it. How can they live in a place named after a Roman Catholic saint? One has to wonder how the Catholic Church has survived two millennia, while homosexuals last one generation.

he supervisors also demonstrated their childishness as they attempted another dig at the Cardinal by indicating in the resolution that the CDF was once known as the Office of the Inquisition. "That the Board of Supervisors urges Cardinal William Levada, in his capacity as head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith at the Vatican (formerly known as Holy Office of the Inquisition), to withdraw his discriminatory and defamatory directive that Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of San Francisco stop placing children in need of adoption with homosexual households," reads the resolution. I visited San Francisco in 1989, beautiful City, landmarks and all;
I will never set foot in this City under this current environment.
It is a crying shame that a beautiful City like San Francisco has been hijacked by the alternate lifestyle individuals, just like they high jacked the meaning of "GAY" out of our English Lexicon!

Since when is the Vatican a country? Must have happened while I was sleeping.

Awesome, I love it when my enemies show their biggotry. The Catholic Church is strong. These weak pansies are a part of a passing fad.

San Francisco City Government Calls Catholics 'Hateful, Discriminatory, Insulting, Ignorant' In the good old days they would have laid an interdiction on San Francisco.

Maybe they should change the name of their city then. Saint Francis (English for "San Francisco") is unlikely to have been in favor of gay adoption, gay love or anything involving homosexuality.
I guess hey could call it Sodom on the Bay? And that town across the bay could be Gomorrah.
That's the ticket.

"While many city's residents agree with the Church's stand against homosexual adoption, the resolution stated "It is an insult to all San Franciscans when a foreign country, like the Vatican, meddles with and attempts to negatively influence this great city's existing and established customs and traditions, such as the right of same-sex couples to adopt and care for children in need.""
1. The ban on homosexuality is much, much older than San Francisco. The Vatican has precedence.
2. It is an insult to all Americans when a rebellious city meddles with attempts to negatively influence this great nations's existing and established customs and traditions, SUCH AS THE FREEDOM TO WORSHIP (or not) AS YOU CHOOSE!

Of course this SF city government-approved public display is not offensive to anyone. They're just some dudes showing their "pride" and having some "bareback" fun. And the politicians fall all over themselves to get a prominent spot in the parade.

Hm, how would the Board respond to another city's resolution with similar words about nearly any other "foreign country"?
Since we're being Socially Aware, I urge these supervisors to address the cause of Abdul Rahman (there's a fine Muslim name). And since it's in 2006 Afghanistan, it must be Bush's Fault! Don't these people care about real insensitivity?
(Oh, I wouldn't expect them to say anything unless, for example, he somehow passed into U.S. custody and some idiot put him in a hood.)
