Tour guide trussell

Hi Everyone! Here we are for another trip to Mesa Verde. This portion is filled with many hidden treasures. Some of these ruins you...you have to look really hard to see.

This is one of my favorites. It's several layers of ruins, built into very small crevices in the rock face. Some of these go back as far as 100 feet into the mountain!

Others are just built in an area that you wouldn't expect to have homes. This one is in a canyon area, at the very end of the canyon.

Read about Mesa Verde Here: Mesa Verde National Park

Another one with layers of ruins. One in the open, on the ledge, another in the cave above it. Do you think that's a third layer just under the ledge? Looks like it might be to me.

There are some built on top of peaks. They appear to be totally vulnerable to the wind and elements.

Another beautifully crafted home, tucked into a small nook. The people were very good at what they did!

They were so confident in their work, they built right up to the cliff! I wouldn't want to live there if I were prone to sleepwalking!! That's a long way down!!

This could possibly explain where we got the idea for High Vaulted Ceilings!! :)

This one is built on the floor of the canyon, with very low ceilings.

YES,...that's snow on the mountains in Tucson, Arizona.

Hawgsmoke 2006
An A-10 Thunderbolt II taxis down the runway as it arrives at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., Wednesday, March 22, 2006, to kick off the beginning of "Hawgsmoke 2006," the 30th anniversary of the Warthog. They actually opened the ski slopes on Mt. Lemmon after this snow, didn't they? Or was it just the recreation area for sledding?

One of our folks from Tucson looked at the forecast - mid 80s by the weekend.

Can ya' believe it? Yeah, I know, me too. I think we'll be in the mid-70s this weekend. Might be a good time to go out to Parker Canyon Lake and see if I can't get a few trout to bite.

Sounds like it is a good quote. His excellent quotes span the gamut from humor to sobriety. I'll start.

"My rule of life prescribed as an absolutely sacred rite smoking cigars and also the drinking of alcohol before, after and if need be during all meals and in the intervals between them."
            Winston Churchill
