In the March 2006 issue of Abolitionist-Online, Vlasak is quoted as saying "Killing an animal abuser, who is not an innocent bystander, is morally defensible, and if they had the power to do so, animals would do it."
Vlasak compares killing of animal researchers to stop animal experimentation to "the killing of Nazi concentration camp guards and officers to free the prisoners being taken to the gas chambers." He suggests that such actions, "most likely would have made the next crop of soldiers less likely to volunteer for duty."
"So yes, I think the threat of violence would save lives, innocent lives. I'm sorry to say its true," says Vlasak.
He proposes, researchers should be allowed to cease and desist peacefully prior to being violently forced. "All animal abusers should be politely asked to stop killing animals in their work and explain to them the scientific fraud in animal experimentation, as I was. If they refuse, they should be told to stop immediately, or suffer the consequences. If they still refuse, then they should be stopped by whatever means necessary. I would hope they would stop the torture and killing when asked, but I suspect some would not."
LifeSiteNews.com contacted The American Board of Surgery (ABS) which certified Vlasak. Communications Director Christine Schiffer, acknowledged that Vlasak was indeed currently certified, which according to Schiffer indicated that he is an active surgeon. When LifeSiteNews.com inquired whether Vlasak's comments would result in his certification being revoked Schiffer explained that the state medical board takes up disciplinary issues and that ABS would cooperate with the state medical board in such matters.
Calls to the California State Medical Board were not returned by press time.

So when he gets some dreadful disease that will prove fatal unless he avails himself of some treatment made possible only by results of animal research, he *will* have the ethical courage to refuse the treatment, right?
Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

If that sorry excuse of a doctor has no respect for the Hippocratic Oath that he took, his medical license should be revoked!
start with him: I can see no better way for him to express his sincerity than by volunteering to be a test-to-destruction lab animal.
Well, if this is the value he places on human life I pray that I NEVER have to go under the knife at whatever hospital in CA he is at when he is on call.
beat me to it by 00:00:20
Excuse me, but isn't Eric Rudolph going to be touring with this guy soon? They seem to be promoting the same book. Maybe the NAGs can protest this doc at the same time.....
So they can justify militant violence to protect animals but they can't rationalize the Iraq War as a means to protect human lives? Figures.
There are morons and there are dangerous morons, Vlasak is of the latter variety.
A surgeon should know very well that he could not do his job saving humans, without the drugs and techniques developed through animal experimentation.
Tell him you are a vegetarian.
What do you want to bet the good doctor is all for abortion on demand...
Oh, and I should add that many of those same drugs and techniques would also not be available to the veterinarians who save the lives of animals.
I think the doctor may be an equal opportunity murderer -- of humans, not animals.
and a frog, yep that's it I will tell him I am a vegetarian and a frog! Perfect.
LOL! "Vlasak" in Czech means, "hairy one." ;o)
