Guys brag about things to each other that they would never tell their wives. Not to say it's right or wrong, just that you are really out of your league in discussing guys's states of mind.

RK is spot on with this. Not only do guys brag, but his reputation amongst his friends is at issue. His friends are looking at him as a hero. Guys are just like that. Many of us outgrow it later in life, but many don't.
