Samad suggested it was hypocritical of opponents to Canada's involvement in Afghanistan to protest now when they remained silent in the 1990s while the Taliban oppressed women and denied children a modern education.

"Where were you when the women of Afghanistan were imprisoned?" he asked. "Where were you when the children of Afghanistan were denied schooling? Where were these demonstrations for human rights and dignity and honour?"

These questions need to be asked loudly and publicly every time one of these left wing wacko groups protests.

Lefties have a political agenda. Destroy Bush. Destroy Harper, etc. That's the only way their protests make any sense because they contradict themselves all the time. These same people claim to believe in tolerance and women's rights, both of which were trampled on by the Taliban. But tolerance, multiculuralism, diversity, women's rights, civil rights, etc. only have meaning when they advance a political agenda, not the people in question who are exploited as a means to a political end.
