Bush warns Iran on Israel
Breitbart.com ^ | Mar 20 | Staff

US President George W. Bush said he hoped to resolve the nuclear dispute with Iran with diplomacy, but warned Tehran he would "use military might" if necessary to defend Israel.

"The threat from Iran is, of course, their stated objective to destroy our strong ally Israel. That's a threat, a serious threat. It's a threat to world peace," the US president said after a speech defending the war in Iraq.

"I made it clear, and I'll make it clear again, that we will use military might to protect our ally Israel," said Bush, who was apparently referring to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's call for the destruction of Israel.

On the atomic dispute, Bush said he hoped "to solve this issue diplomatically" with a "united message" to Tehran from Washington, London, Paris, Berlin as well as Russia "hopefully" and China.

The message would be that "your desire to having a nuclear weapon is unacceptable," he said.

Bush also touched on Iran's agreement to discuss Iraq with the United States, saying that "it's very important, however, for the Iranians to understand that the discussion is limited to Iraq.

"We're using this as an opportunity to make it clear about our concerns of interference within a democratic process that is evolving," he said, saying that the talks will not decide Iran's relations with a sovereign Iraq.

"Ultimately, Iraq-Iranian relations will be negotiated between the Iraqi government and the Iranian government," he said.

So, just which of Israel's battles have we fought for them? Was it their 1948 War of Independance, or was it the 1956 Suez War? How about the 1967 War or the 1973 Yom Kippur sneak attack by the Arabs?

Maybe you mean the 1991 Gulf War. No, you couldn't mean that since we, the USA, told Israel to stay out of it and take on the Iraqi missiles like men and not fight back. Do you think if the Israeli's hands were not tied behind them that they would have fought a better war than we did and not let these Arabs off the hook?

The world is round, not flat so you cannot get to the other end without coming to the beginning or the starting point. Since this is the only place now to live and there are no other habitable planets, yet, doesn't it make sense to stop the situation before it gets totally out of hand?

I do agree...and I understand the answer as to when to intervene in foreign disputes is not always clear or easy. I would not suggest that the choice to enter WWII was a bad one...only that, even in that case, the decision to enter the war...and more importantly, when to enter the war...is not an easy or obvious answer. Part of the reason America emerged from the war as the great power it did was the result of the fact that we stayed out of the war (at least actively) for years while the European and Asian powers ravaged each other

What has been going on in the Middle East is an entirely different story...the problem is not a lack of American involvement...its a far-too-extensive, decades long involvement and the undeniable reality is that the US has greatly favored the Israelis in the battle between Zionism and Islamism in the Middle East. Far too many Americans today have been conditioned to believe that terrorism began with the Arabs in the Middle East because they are simply evil and bent on destroying the West and turning us all into Muslims...such a simplisitic, childish misunderstanding of what's gone on the Middle East in the 20th century.

Another poster above refers me to the former Iranian president Rafsanjani and suggests that he has advocated nuking Israel and the US and is willing to sacrifice millions of Iranians to do this...I mean, how many Americans really believe this garbage? I wonder how many have read or heard any of Rafsanjani's speeches.

Here is Rafsanjani's Qods Day Speech from 2001...does this sound like someone who wants to launch a nuclear attack against the US and accept the annihilation of Iran just because he "hates us for who we are"...or because he "hates our freedoms"? or does it sound like someone articulating a political grievance with US foreign policy and the favoritism the US government has shown Israel since its founding in the form of billions of dollars in annual aid, weapons sales and US backed threats to ensure that none of Israel enemies will be allowed to possess the weapons Israel posssesses

Maybe he's saddened because no one told him when Israel was made the 51st state...

Where were you on 9/11?

Oceans shielded us in Washington's day, they don't help much anymore. We need to neutralize the forces that want to destroy us and Israel is a useful ally.

Like it or not, we've been thoroughly entangled with the greater world since the Nazis, the Communists and now the islamics. The alternative is to give it all up and go home, become a second-rate nation and hope our enemies don't come sneaking in to bomb us out of our beds.

You seem to have a problem with Israel's nukes ? Why? You appear to equate weapons controlled by Israel with those possessed by the Mullahs of Iran? How about France or England, do their weapons bother you in a similiar fashion?
Do you think that after decades of having nukes the Iranians will have not used them? Stable culture that they are...They sent their children into Iraq's mine fields to die detonating them.Yet you state that they won't risk retaliation...If they nuke us secretly, do we then nuke them...Zionism seeks control of an area the size New Jersey, Islamism seeks much more, just ask the Hindus, Buddists, the Tribal or Christian Africans, the secular Europeans, etc. The Islamists are simply evil and they do seek to destroy the west...and it's time WE took out the trash...

Sorry it took so long to respond but I almost missed your reply. That is interesting.

However after forty years of study I do not believe there is much of a nuclear exchange in the region close to Israel.

If it where depending on the weapons used it could be uninhabitable for some time and Israel being very small could not really sustain much of a hit and survive.

Also if you notice in Ezekiel 39:12 The first seven months it is Israelis that are doing the burying and at the end of seven months suddenly stop and hire non-Jews to do it.

If it where radiation disease or whatever it would have been worse the first seven months.

What is happening I'm very sure of is that the reason they stop touching the bodies after seven months and hire it done by none Jews is because they are fixing to resume worship of God in the tabernacle after being moved to do so by the miraculous victory orchestrated by God.

A Jewish person cannot touch anything dead or even a grave and participate in the ceremony because they would be considered unclean and have to go through a cleansing period of about a week.

If you look at what God is doing here it is several things.

First He is trying to start a change in the heart of these stiff-necked secular people.

He is also letting the rest of the world know He is not dead.

He is finally dealing with this age old blood feud between Israel and her kin and .

He is going to punish them for th way they treated Israel down through the ages.

The world's Islamic problem and the Palestinian problem are going to be solved by God.

The World and Israel will then I believe breath a sigh of relief and enter into a time of false peace.

Oh I don't really place that much much stock in my own interpretation, but the description in Ezekial of the placement of the signs is so much like how hazmat teams operate. God reigns and his will shall be and is continually being done...either through his manipulations of men and kings or by his own direct hand!

As for the "hiring" of workers to do the burial, it may also be that with the enormous amount of dead, they simply need the help. The actual verses don't say that Israel stops burying the dead because they would pollute themselves...they bury the dead to cleanse the land from pollution...but it seems that after seven months the bulk of the work is done...but it would take years to get all the remains, hence the hiring of men whose continued employment is to identify the dead then bury them.

I am not envious of the Russians and I stated before that I admired their hardiness and toughness. But I also am not going to sit here and fool myself into believing that Lend-Lease did nothing to help the Soviets win the war. Lend-Lease also supplied factory parts and tooling equipment that was used to help make the T-34s. Some drop in the ocean. I'll take the lifestyle in the good ol' US of A over Stalin's kill-your-own crucible. He killed more than the Germans. Is this to be touted as a feat as well?

Only the Germans would be stupid enough to develop a jet engine and put it on a BOMBER instead of a fighter.

And the V-1 and V-2 would have been perfect delivery systems for nukes. But Germany didn't have any, since it chased all the physicists to the US...

Cheers!

Do you have any information supporting your assertion that the Iranian regime, all of whose leaders claim that their purpose is to create an Islamic Armageddon, are not willing to die?

Let me interject something here.

It doesn't really matter if they're willing to die.

Once they are IN FACT dead, their schemes come to nought.

Remember the United States is the only power to have nuked civilians...twice.

These guys are rank amateurs.

Cheers!

Yep, the Germans didn't have one yet but I recently learned that the JAPANESE tested an Atomic Bomb in Korea near the end of the war..[History Channel]..after the surrender the Russians moved into Northern Korea and removed all the facilities to the Motherland...The Tokyo nuke research centers were bombed..

Sorry if it sounds insulting. Between work, freeping, volunteer work and bird flu reading and prep, I'm months behind. Yours is somewhere around #10 - 14 down.

My only question is, is are we attacking Iran because they are attacking Israel, or are we attacking Iran because they are threatening to sell oil for Euros? Because we give Arabs money in Palestine to attack Jews, I suspect the Euro connection has far more weight than the blood of Jewish children.
