I'm going to have to use this site to upload pictures of my kids' messy bedrooms.
The article is misleading in one respect: The daughter put up the embarrassing pictures of the father on the site he designed: http://www.shameit.com

It is easy, just go in there with a coal scoop shovel and a few trash bags. Do it once and they will be broken of that habit.

..don't know what the fuss is all about. I've developed great calf muscles and a daily cardio workout jumping over stuff.

The concept of shame, like manners, is a throwback to the past; today, it's "Look at me!" wherever you turn.

I've only read two articles now, but I'm already way over involved in the dynamic of this goofy family.

She's 20? The solution is easy. Tell her to clean up or find somewhere else to live.

www.shameit.com is always too busy to show up in my browser.
It's a shame.

Bagging up everything on the floor and confiscating them usually works. The kid can't have the stuff back until she earns it. If desired effect still isn't reached, Goodwill gets a nice donation.

I worked with a guy who was determined to teach his teenagers to keep their rooms clean. Every time he found something on the floor or thrown across a chair in their rooms, he put it in the trunk of his car. Soon, they were left only with the shoes and clothes that they didn't like.
It worked. They learned how to be tidy.

My sister came over wanting to hide some valubles because she was going on vacation. I told her to put in the middle of my 16 year old daughter's floor. Nobody could possibly find it there.

This kind of reminds me of when my dad got tired of my oldest sister slamming her bedroom door. When she was at school, he took her door off and let her live without it.
She got the message as well did all of us younger siblings.

20 years old! Pack her messy stuff into boxes, put them in the front yard and change the locks.
Problem solved.

I never had a problem. When my children were but two if they left anything on the floor I simply just picked it up and threw it away. I never replaced it. They learned quick.
