It is easy, just go in there with a coal scoop shovel and a few trash bags. Do it once and they will be broken of that habit.

I tried the garbage bagging of my kids playroom. Didn't work. They are extremely strong willed.

Yepper! Worked like a charm with our daughter; she never did like it when I cleaned her room for her...

The best thing to do is simply have a rule which says you have to keep the door to your room closed. I don't want to see it. If you like living in squalor that's fine. If you leave the room door open (and I don't care if you are 13 years old or 20 years old) you get grounded.
