2-day event running in Lauderdale By James D. Davis Religion Editor Posted March 18 2006 Hundreds gave a rousing ovation Friday night to the Rev. D. James Kennedy's proclamation that the nation can be won for Jesus. "I'm telling you, America is going to be changed," Kennedy boomed on the first day of the Reclaiming America for Christ conference in Fort Lauderdale. His listeners needed little persuasion. Hailing from 38 states, the 796 conferees had come to the 10th annual conference to learn how to be conservative Christian activists in their hometowns. "It was inspirational," said Paul K. Blair, a Baptist pastor from Edmond, Okla. "This conference offers some wonderful resources for showing us America's Christian heritage." Ana Maria Pena, a music teacher from Miami, was at her third Reclaiming America conference. "It's always good," she said. "You learn new things to restore your culture for Christ." Held at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, where Kennedy is pastor, the two-day conference was designed to show that the country was founded on Christian values, which translate into conservative action. Speaker after speaker denounced abortion, pornography and liberal politics. Activist Jim Selak talked about combating Planned Parenthood. Christian newsmagazine editor Marvin Olasky discussed "Presenting Intelligent Design Intelligently." Attorney David Gibbs III, who argued to keep Terri Schiavo alive, railed against the court rulings that let her die. William Federer, president of the Amerisearch publishing company in St. Louis, accused liberals

Mike Huckabee was there. Where were the other GOP candidates for 2008?
I don't know where the paragraph breaks went. They were there when I pasted it.
Were they there when you "previewed" it?
Very strange, indeed.
You have to use HTML when posting articles. It's not optional like when you post a reply.
No you don't.
If you don't want it to wind up as one big paragraph you do.
"If you don't want it to wind up as one big paragraph you do. "
It depends on the site. I've made many posts by simply selecting the text, pressing Ctrl-C, then pressing Ctrl-V to paste it into the FR edit box.
In almost all cases, the paragraphing was retained. I always look at the preview before final posting.
"This forum allows optional use of most HTML tags. If your post does not contain HTML, it will be converted to HTML when posted, retaining paragraphs as typed. This conversion is not performed if you have anything resembling an HTML tag in your text."
Click on the "post" button to start a new thread.
Scroll down to the box where you're supposed to post the thread.
"Body of Thread HTML okay REQUIRED"
Now type:

Now hit "preview"
We were talking paragraphs. Right? Right!
Try it this way and see what happens.

Better yet, paste an article with mulitple paragraphs, then hit preview.
Works OK for me, too. Every article I've posted has come out with the paragraphs intact. Of course, I never add any HTML coding, because that destroys the automatic HTML.
Well thanks for the info, pal, I guess the forum just decided that the poster who made this thread didn't smell right. It's nice to know that from on now I can trust you instead of having to rely on my lyin' eyes.
Yup. I even went to the source link for the post that started THIS thread. Selected the text, pressed Ctrl-C, then went to the Post dialog. I pressed Ctrl-V in the box for the post, then pressed preview.
Paragraphing was retained.
You're not paying attention. I've tested the same thing, and even with the article that started this thread, it works just fine, retaining all paragraphing.
But...put any form of code or anything that can be interpreted as HTML, and it all falls apart.
Exactly.
If you have any HTML whatsoever, the automatic built-in paragraph retainer will not function. :^)
Remain ignorant for all I care.
Katherine is going to need all of the help that she can get.
If you mean you have to do the HTML yourself you don't. The articles I've posted I just copy/n/paste and they are nicely decorated with paragraphs.
