The Talk Shows
Sunday, March 19th, 2006
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Vice President Dick Cheney.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sens. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., and Jack Reed, D-R.I.; Olympic speed skater Joey Cheek.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Sens. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., and Joseph Biden, D-Del.; Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed Chalabi; Afghan Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah; former national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.
I'd be surprised if he didn't... anyway I wasn't here last Sunday (don't get to this thread as much as I'd like to).
The Vice President is a master at this. There are more then a few Republicans who should be watching and learning how he handles himself. I will miss him when he retires. I love that little grin he gets when the Junk Media types spew up one of their particularly dumb questions.
Oooooh....just missed Christopher Hitchens on ABC's This Weak. Coulda' been good. Anyone catch it?
Congressman Rangel is the Ranking Member of the Committee on Ways and Means
Must watch and DVD this
Except during spring break!
I agree
Just turned on MTP and turned it off .. nothing but bold face lies are being said by Murtha
There is another one Republican's should watch and learn from. He is quite good at demolishing the intellectual pretentions of the critics.
I didn't hear the impeachment word, but Bob Schieffer did ask Cheney if he should resign! Can you believe that? Too darn funny.
Durbin dealt with it.
"Chuck Hagel insisted on ABC that we have had a civil war in Iraq for the past half year. Is he really thinking about running for 2008?"
I liked Hagel some years back, but the last few years it seems he needs to get back on his meds. I was curious about his voting record and donation record (any change due to who he was receiving money from). Didn't do any analysis, but in a quick review, it appears that he simply likes to be in front of a camera and is trying to be a McCain-lite 'renegade'. Someone from Nebraska may have addt'l info/know more about his 'change'.
Donation record below. Here's what American Conservative Union says (last year they have is 2004) - - interesting that he dropped 15 points in 1 year:
Senator Chuck HAGEL (R)

2004 Score - 87
Previous Year's Score - 100

I was wondering if he got any Abramoff-related contributions. It appears he only got $4k:

As I said on another thread .. I will hold my nose and vote to make sure the Democrats will not control Congress
Not one word on FNS - did not listen to any others.
"we have a 'bitter' way"
Some one should ask Schieffer if he needs an enema.
Oh my Gawd, where did you get that expression? My oldest brother has said that since he was 15, and I know you are not that old. which ever end of Murtha is "talking" you can be assured it is "senile".
I was thinking the same thing. I chalk it up to the fact that this is the anniversary of the Iraq war, & being an eleiction year, none of them have the ball$ to face some (tough?) questions
I'm going to have to find out when that interview repeats. It's sounds like that was a good one.
