If there is nobody around to hear it then you are wrong!

Astute to the max, DoughtyOne!

Not only are polls "all the rage", they are like manna from heaven for the MSM. Cable news shows on CNN and MSNBC wouldn't have a lead-in if their sister news corps didn't do a poll for them to talk about. Same with politicians.

Have you noticed how politicians pepper their spin with skewed poll results? For them, it's as if polls have replaced actual truth. The other day I was almost shocked when a rogue reporter actually asked Russ Feingold a challenging follow-up question. Feingold responded with, "you can't prove that, there hasn't been a poll done on that". I LOL at Feingold, who seemed to think reality didn't exist unless a poll had been conducted to confirm it.

Since the polls always oversample Democrats by a HUGE margin, they are quite simply useless as reality.

They get MSM spun as reality, though, of course.

The disinformation campaign being waged by the U.S. M.S.M. is as broad and deep as it is sickening and taiterous.

A perfect summary to a great article.

Bump. Good going!

Polls are to the MSM as advertising is to corporate America and serve the same purpose. To get you to buy their product.

In the case of the alphabet media, it is to get you to believe their propaganda.

Any of these advertising slogans sound familiar?

Oh, what a feeling!

Where’s the beef?

Kills roaches dead.

The choice of the new generation.

The Breakfast of Champions.

Reach out and touch someone.

Don’t leave home without it.

The cheese that goes crunch.

Snap! Crackle! Pop!

The Uncola

Like polling, none of the above slogans mean a thing about the pro's and con's of the product.

In answser to your title question, no, it would make no difference. The polls would still show Bush with a low approval rating, it would still show that most people want to kill their unborn children and it would still show that everyone in the world thinks Iraq was a bad idea. I think they come up with their conclusions first and then go out seeking the people to fit them. They keep calling until they get the demographic they want.

Overheard in the polling room: "Brian, we need one more person against the Iraq war in order to make these numbers work. Keep calling until you find her! We have a poll to rig here people. Let's get moving!"

If the poll involved OUR president W it would STILL be 100 against, 0 for, without one soul being in the dessert.

Continuing with G. Mason's spot on analogy, you would complain to Tony the Tiger but still buy his snit?

The MSM enables the Dems and Pubbies to damn America with cacocracy. Democracy is the rule of fools by fools.

Here's a little information about polls that is NEVER mentioned. During the clinton reign I questioned the pools so I decided to get an inside view of pooling. I took a part-time job as a phone interviewer at a major polling organization.

I immediately noticed the quality of my fellow interviewers. They were divided into three about equal parts. 1) College students 2) High school dropouts and 3) very troubled individuals (drugs problems, alcohol problems and financial problems). All three groups were predominately leftists.

Then I learned something even more relevant. We had a question about hillery. About 70% of those I called answered "dislike". When I mentioned this on break another interviewer said "I don't care what they say. I like her and that's why I always push the key (computer) that says "favorable"!

So when you see a pool that you don't agree with remember what I'm saying and DON'T BELIEVE what's being reported.

I know just what you mean. Good point. At least I think it was. I haven't seen a poll on it. ;-)
