I do not really care. I am young enough social security will have long collapsed by the time I retire.

It has nothing to do with retirement. It has to do with Congress spending trillions more than income. That can only result in higher taxes down the road, and that will affect you, retired or not.

Good for you! What percentage of your income are you currently putting into your 401K or your IRA? 10%? 20% 25%? (Save half of your money starting tomorrow if you're smart.)

You do realize that those coming up behind you, such as your younger siblings and future children, WILL be paying for YOU one way or another; through payroll taxes or some other new program that the socialists use to bilk money out of future Generations, right? ;)

Ah, but I'm sure the politicians will find something to steal that will affect you.

Just keep letting them know that if it's not about you, it's not your problem.

That was always my attitude also as the years grew. I'm 59 now and still expect SS to go south. Luckily, I worked for a really good company for 30 years and don't need the SS money anyway. Don't change your thinking. If SS gives you $$, consider it a gift.

They will probably be taxing the hell out of you to keep it afloat. Anyway, try to save 20% of what you make every year and you will do just fine.

You should care, because these nimrods are extorting the money from your paycheck that you will never see.

All at the "whim" of a simple vote.

And that's not including what they already take out in Fed. taxes.

Well sonny boy, that's where you are wrong. You will get back every penny you put into Social Security. Every penny.

Of course a Micky D's cheeseburger will cost $10,000, but you will get back every penny, 100¢ on the dollar...

That is if you can retire, because the politicians will just raise taxes inorder to pay for social security and the bloated federal debt.
