THE WASHINGTON TIMES
March 18, 2006
Senate Democrats have mapped a political battle plan for the March congressional recess that calls on lawmakers to stage press events with active duty military personnel, veterans and emergency responders to bash President Bush on virtually every one of his national security policies.

While in theory, this makes sense, we all know that certain critters can not be trusted!
On the bright side, our troops KNOW they are being used as political stunts. One of our wounded warriors told me last night (naming no names) that he "guesses it is nice they come to see some of us" that they know it is political because they drag camera crews and reporters with them.
This same soldier said they know those who are there because they care, citing Colonel North, as one who actually visits because he cares about them. He followed that statement with a big smile and a "I love that guy!"
Active Duty Personnel?.....I don't think so, if they value their careers.....
Perhaps they don't realize that Bush is not running for a seat in the Senate?
I think this would be a great opportunity for the Republican challengers to slaughter the incumbent Dems for their records on any number of Domestic issues while they flail about trying to attack Bush on National Security.
Has the RNC found its gonads yet? We're waiting!
Thank you for my new tagline.
Good point. The camera crews and reporters are a good clue. :-)
active duty military personnel??? not legal, but why let that stop you!!!
I have a strong sense stinking SOROS is behind the staged anti-war global protests leading to the frontal attack by the RATS on the war!...HMMMM, smells fishy to me!
I seriously doubt they can contain the troublemakers with active duty military people prsent.
They'll be screeching and howling, and even Nancy Pelosi will be embarrassed.
Wow..what a great strategy..and during Q&A..someone can ask these dems why they working so hard for terrorists to make phone calls to al-quaeda so risk free..should make the military proud..hey..even terrorists have rights..right?????
As low as humanly possible, and then some.
They rely on nobodies to bash the military and the president for the sake of political power.
Look at Murtha. He is bashing the Iraq situation in order to restore his ability to bring military pork to his districts. He does not give a poop about national security, only his ability to buy votes with pork (not to mention obtain campaign contributions)
So now they will have soldiers booted for practicing homosexuality, or who did not expect to actually fight as a soldier go in front of a camera and cry tears of the crocodile.
Somebody stick a fork in the democrat party, they are done.
"Look at Murtha"
Wouldn't you rather look at who will be running AGAINST Mu'tha?

The following is the last paragraph.
"In almost every issue in the Reid memo, Democratic lawmakers are called upon to criticize the president for not spending enough federal dollars.
The plan urges the lawmakers to:
"Hold a town hall meeting with state officials and a local National Guard unit at their armory to discuss the security impact of long deployments. ... Ask National Guard members to offer input on how security and disaster response at home is compromised by long deployments."
Meanwhile the Republican "lawmakers" are criticizing him for spending to many federal dollars.
Problem is...the President doesn't spend federal dollars - the "lawmakers" do. Ignorant morons, all.
Ask National Guard members to offer input on how security and disaster response at home is compromised by long deployments."
Let me guess...this will lead to the fact a few hundred National Guardsmen were deployed when Katrina hit. Never mind that they were back almost before the idiot governor asked for them.
They pick these sitting Senators because they think that their status will get them onto a military base. For official business, yes, but not for campaigning.
Since so few of these political hacks ever served in the military, they are clueless on military protocols. They think they can just drive up and set up their cameras for the photo op.
The really hilarious thing is that they must have made their plans when it really looked like Iraq might be going in to a civil war but they don't have enough sense to change their tactics.
I may be too optimistic but I think this war is essentially won and it will be clear to anyone who cares to notice in the next 6 months.
I also think it was brilliant to put those captured documents on the net for translation because the truth will come out and everyone will know that Saddam supported bin Laden.
A........."Rumsfeld singled out as crisis deepens in Iraq" (General Eaton attacks Rumsfeld)...... bump

You forgot to find someone to pray, Harry. Don't forget it's, "one Nation under God."
