Baretta Tidbits

Baretta was an indirect spinoff of Toma (anyone remember Toma?). After Tony Musante left the show, Robert Blake was asked to step in, and the show was revamped into Baretta. Tony Baretta was an unconventional cop, streetwise with a decidedly funky lifestyle. He lived in apartment 2-C of an old run-down hotel called the King Edward, with his pet cockatoo, Fred. The orphaned son of poor Italian immigrants, Baretta was a master of disguise, which ability he used to infilrate gangs. The show had plenty of hard action, as well as comic relief provided by his dude informant friend, Rooster. The show made it into the Top Ten for the 1976/1977 season.

And, of course, many of you have heard about the troubles of one Mr. Blake, I’m sure.

That's the end of the ride for today. Please watch your step on exiting the time machine. Now that I've shown you a few, how about you share something from your memory. Or, if one of these were your favorite show then, share a memory of the best episode for you.

GumdropI is safely in Quito, Ecuador now. She had a bad scare last night and I think maybe it was enough to scratch her itch for a while. I sure hope she doesn't get another itch to go a third-world country anytime soon. I did let my brother know and he has been worried sick. :D :D :D He is so relieved she's in Quito. They have made all the Peace Corp folks and my daughter stay in the area there in Quito...no more excursions....due to the riots around. They are due to something to do with NAFTA, and Americans aren't well-liked in that vicinity right now. I'm shaking my head...she'd pick THIS week of all weeks to be down there.

Thanks for your support. She flies from Quito to Miami, then on to Richmond on Saturday. I'll be glad when she gets home!!

Good evening, carlr

Sad to say that I hardly remember Emergency. Might be a good idea for me to see if it is still on somewhere and refresh my memory.

Prayers answered for your daughter to be safe. I know you must have been scared to death for her. I hope she returns safely to the states and stays home for a while, to give her mom a chance to recuperate.
