Everyone's favorite rabid Bush-hater is ripping into McClellan at a WH briefing on today's action in Iraq. Gregory is all over McClellan with charges that Bush has authorized this "bloody attack" to raise his poll numbers. Helen Thomas has just chimed in to say that Bush is a war criminal in his "unauthorized attack in Iraq" (unauthorized by the UN abd MSM). That "preemptive war is unacceptable." As McClellan replies Thomas bores ahead. Quite a sight. Reporters are now challenging McClellan on the US' right to defend itself. The masks are sure off the Dinosaur Press, folks.

If he wasn't so easy on them the world wouldn't get to see what idiots they are. Right on, pepperdog. Agreed.

"Where are your press credentials and how dare you ask so many stupid irrelevant questions.
This exchange would be cause for the Queen of Ugly to picked up with one hand by the throat and crushing her larynx with one powerful cybernetic squeeze. Her lifeless corpse is thrown against the wall like a bag of garbage.

I don't understand why the the military act in question got reported in the first place. Why does the military have to explain it's actions in advance? It seems counterproductive to the goal of surprising the enemy.

Perhaps more like "two peas in a urinal"?

Q (wheeze, cough)Does the President know that he's in violation of international law when he advocates preemptive war? The U.N. Charter, Geneva, Nuremberg. We violate international law when we advocate attacking a country that did not attack us.
Helen, did or did Iraq not open fire on our patrol fighters at any time after the Gulf War? History tells us that this happened in clear violation of the UN resolutions and international law. What this war did was the effect of the cause. To ignore Iraq's actions would in itself be a violation.
Q It's a violation of international law.
Yes, that's correct. Iraq was in violation. I'm glad we can agree.
Q It's never been.
Were you not awake during the '90s? Saddam fired on us multiple times and we did nothing more than blow their tracking systems away.
Q The heavy emphasis of your paper today is war and preemptive war.
If they fired the first shot, it's not preemptive, Helen. Aren't you listening?
Q Under international law you have to be attacked first.
We WERE attacked first, you nippleheaded swamp beast.
Q You had no threat from Iraq.
Actually, I'm begining to feel threatened by your gaze.
Q That was not a threat from Iraq.
No, it's a threat from your Mother against all that can see.
Q What are the consequences?
Blindness. Perhaps even heartburn.
Q Are you warning Iran that it has consequences as you did Iraq?
Oh, we're back to that now?
Q Are we threatening Iran with preemptive war?
You still don't get it, dolt. Playtime's over. Security, please grab a double layer of latex, take the sea hag here, search her for any White House property, and escort her away from this area. Once she's outside, confiscate her pass, wrap it in your latex gloves and burn it all on the streets. Then come on back in here and we'll discuss the extra hazard pay you'll have just earned when you're finished.

McClellan exhibited an amazing amount of patience with Thomas.
She should be retired....what a disgrace!

Yes, Gregory is a "red-meat gift" whose whole reporter's persona seems to thrive on the most pathetic cast-off scraps....that's all he wants to eat.

David Gregory is an arrogant jerk who is full of himself. Heh David, you are not the story. It's really, really time for Term Limits For Reporters!
How about drawing a random citizen or two. Since W has been president the federal government has grown at least twice the inflation rate, yet I have never heard a question about why the high growth rate and does the president have any respect for the people who pay the taxes rather than receive and spend the taxes. All I hear is "what mistakes did the president make?" asked about 50 different ways. David's behavior today, (and every day) is an insult to me and my President. He should not be in the room. Nor should Helen Thomas. She's had her time. There should be no "doyennes" or what ever she is in the White House press room, only temporary "journalists". I wish there was someone in the room concerned about issues, not just playing got ya and selling soap.
I think there is something blatantly undemocratic for the same journalists to have a monopoly of the seats in the White House. Even if every seat were filled by Fox News, I'd still want turn over. It's undemocratic to create this priviliged few in the press. It's the people house and the people's room, it would be nice if some real people were allowed to ask questions.David Gregory has been there what over 5 years. Helen Thomas is about 25 years past being put out to pasture. Sam Donaldson, etc., the room is filled with these privileged press primadonnas who should be thrown out of the people's house today.
