Actually, what got Schorr, and I know this because he's told the story on NPR many times (it made him a legend in his own mind) is that there was a bunch of reporters and journalists that were hostile to the Nixon Administration, so someone made a list which became knows as Nixon's Enemies List. Somehow the list was leaked to the press, and Daniel was reading the list of names live on air, when he read his own name on the list. I guess he takes great pride to be included on Nixon's enemies list.
Here is a wikipedia article about it that makes for interesting reading. The list of entertainment 'enemies' hasn't changed much in 30 years.

I definitely concur.
...It's an absolute waste of time and the energy it costs to turn the broadcast or cable 'news' on. To repeat what a coworker of mine stated regarding the 'Mainstream' Media: It's all about the ratings and money.

You are mistaken, I have watched C-Span since Nov 2000
Since that time, especially since the 2004 election C-Span has made no secret of the fact they are anti Republican.
If you listen to the questions on Washington Journal they are always in lock step with the latest New York Times garble.
Also, C-Span used to show speakers like Brent Bozell, David Horiwitz, Ann Coulter & other top name Conservatives.
My husband and I have kept a sort of tally on C Span programming. Since Nov 2004 its about 80% liberal 10% "moderate" and 10% Conservative. Another change in Cspan is they now screen callers. I have gotten through as a caller more than 7 times. However, the screener asked me what question I was going to ask before she allowed me on the air. I was always polite & had valid questions, but, if my question was too hard hitting the C-Span screener simply hung up on me. C-Span has changed horribly since 2000 & its gone left, mark my words.

I agree, Fox become #1 by offering a Conservative voice along with facts to the audience.
Now, its as politically correct as the rest of them.
I'd like to see an Oprah like talk show with Michelle Malkin as the Host :)

The only way to get a conservative news network is for conservatives to start one. Liberals are able to, but conservatives can't seem to get out of the starting gate. I can't understand that. Certainly we have some rich people that could start one. We can't complain if conservatives don't do anything. The liberals own the network and then we complain when they don't talk about what we want them too...that doesn't seem logical.

Sadly, even the Washington Times has seemed to jump on the "status quo" bandwagon.
They lead the way calling for Hastert to resign & gave the left days worth of Fodder on a diversion, not an issue. More and More the WT (like Fox news) has become just another cookie cutter media outlet. IMO
