I Need A Conservative Television News Network
The Reality Check ^ | 03/16/2006 | Edward L. Daley

Posted on 03/16/2006 8:27:25 AM PST by sr4402

Every morning I log onto the worldwide web, not because I'm a computer geek, but because I want to understand what's going on in the world. I've long since turned my back on the print media for accurate and timely news reporting, and it's getting to the point where I can't even bring myself to watch a televised news broadcasts anymore, simply because tv networks can't seem to report on much of anything these days without insulting my intelligence with some sort of politically correct blather.

...

I need a television news network that doesn't slip misleading statements like "after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks... Muslims were often targeted for violence" (1) into its war-related news coverage, for no apparent reason other than to insinuate that Americans are prone to the same sort of religious-based, reactionary violence that the citizens of many Middle Eastern countries regularly engage in.

Lord, please give me a Conservative Network that doesn't bear false witness and slander so that your truth and justice can get out without suppression, in Jesus Name!

Yep. A real Conservative network would clean the Junk Media's clock. Fox News is only left Leftist then the rest not Conservative

Yup. Fox jumped the shark a long time age. I just get all my news from FR now.

I don't want "conservative" news. I want the friggin' news, not cheerleading. If the conservatives screw up, I want to hear about it.

I'd be happy with a network that just reported the truth; left, right or otherwise.

You have one, and it's run by Pat Robertson.

Coimplain to him.

I'd be really, really happy to find a news network that didn't have any bias in either direction. Now that would be useful.

What's the point of watching teevee news anyway? If you follow news on the net, by the time you get home from work it's OLD news. I sometimes tune into Brit's show around 6:40, just to check out the panel for fun. But that's opinion, not news. In fact, I believe that one thing Fox does better than anyone else is sell opinion as entertainment. They seem to understand that that's what news/political junkies want. The panel is like a little piece of the old Brinkley show, 5 nights a week. If I were a rival network, the first thing I would do is copy the panel. The next thing I would do is quit pretending your hosts don't have an agenda. Just sell the agenda for what it is. But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I know people will disagree with me, but I think CSPAN is as close as you can get to bias-free political coverage. No one else gives you so much of the thing itself, unedited.

Say what you want, Fox Cable News is the better than anything else.

Such a thing does not exist. The closest I've found is NPR, which at least tries to have equally biased people - at least on Morning Edition and All Things Considered.

Between those news shows and the Wall St. Journal, I get a pretty balanced view of things.

It would be nice to have a network that talks about liberal ideas as "controversial" and describes the ACLU and CAIR as "far-left" and so on. We may have to put up our own money and create a public broadcasting system on FM radio for starters. Grab up some of these Christian FM stations on the educational band that may just happen to run out of fundraising money sometime and have to sell. "Freedom Public Radio" or something like that. A TV operation would probably start with a satellite dish somewhere and very little else except short updates satellite fed to willing low power or Christian type TV stations. It takes a lot of money. That's why so much news is like tabloid, because it draws audience and ad revenue.

We used to have one.

But then Fox News sold out, too.

I'm with you. News without bias is the highest standard we can hope for...not news with a conservative slant.

Yup. Fox jumped the shark a long time age. I just get all my news from FR now.

FreeRepublic is my best source of unreported news and the news which the lamestream chooses not to reveal to us. I.E. context and history.

I am all over the Internet these days and wouldn't have imagined doing that 30 years ago. Back then I read the papers and watched the Evening news religiously. Now you couldn't pay me to do so.

I long for news that doesn't bear false witness, slander and embroilment. The lamestream is all into coercion and trying to make us take their viewpoint and assume we are morons and can't think for ourselves.

Yes, please, one of you that wants to make some really big bucks... Go out and outdo FOX with a Conservative Network. Please, Please!
