thank you for you reply; however, Bush, as much as I like him, has not fought an aggressive war. Shock and Awe was not shock and awe. this has been, in my opinion, a war fought on political correctness - that we have to be sensitive to the Iraqis and the terrorists. Anderson Cooper was talking last night how much he thought it was an atrocity that we did not have imbedded journalists in this mission and that he didn't like the fact that all of our information was coming from the Dept. of Defense. It ticked me off I had to change the channel.

If we had been allowed to fight this war the way we wanted, it would be over by now (in my civilian opinion). I mean look at the outcry over the way we are treating the poor Muslim terrorists and detainees. I think we are pussy-footing around so we don't "damage a mosque" or hurt some Muslim's feelings. The press and the left don't care that our guys are being killed by those they are trying to protect.

I have to trust what they are doing. Supposedly they have been planning this for a month but to be the "largest arial assault since the war began"? please... they didn't "assault" anything - 50 or so helicopters dropped off our men in the desert. Where was the assault? By definition an assault is a violent attack, an act that threatens physical harm. In my opinion, this was the wrong choice of words. It wasn't an arial assault - it was a sneak attack - We just used whirlybirds to get our guys there quicker.

From the AP just moments ago:

"An American soldier was shot and killed Thursday while manning an observation post in Samarra, 60 miles north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said. The soldier was from the 101st Airborne Division's 3rd Brigade Combat Team, part of which is participating in the airborne sweep."

Don't you see?!?! Bomb them - just bomb the crap out of Samarra...Our guys are dying while the elite are picking their butts 3,000 miles away! And Bush wonders why his ratings are low. He's showing weakness. He has to be strong. He has to give the enemy something they understand - power and force. I CAN'T STAND THIS!!! :-( We are fighting a pansy-a$* war! Why are we afraid to do what has to be done! It's all talk and no action.

We have to be premptive, we have to get them before they get us - but for God's sake - we're not getting them! We haven't learned to fight their kind of war. God help us!!!

Of course, this is just my opinion.
