US launches REALLY BIG air assault in Samara

50 aircraft,1500 Iraqui/ US Troops in Samra (n of baghdad) , largest air and land assult since we went in.

From the AP just moments ago:

"An American soldier was shot and killed Thursday while manning an observation post in Samarra, 60 miles north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said. The soldier was from the 101st Airborne Division's 3rd Brigade Combat Team, part of which is participating in the airborne sweep."

Don't you see?!?! Bomb them - just bomb the crap out of Samarra...Our guys are dying while the elite are picking their butts 3,000 miles away! And Bush wonders why his ratings are low. He's showing weakness. He has to be strong. He has to give the enemy something they understand - power and force. I CAN'T STAND THIS!!! :-( We are fighting a pansy-a$* war! Why are we afraid to do what has to be done! It's all talk and no action.

We have to be premptive, we have to get them before they get us - but for God's sake - we're not getting them! We haven't learned to fight their kind of war. God help us!!!

Of course, this is just my opinion.

One suggestion: why not take a look at some thoughtful analysis of what the circumstances are, for example what Wretchard writes over at Belmont Club:

Wretchard reproduces a Time report, and then "rewrites" it to make some interesting points. The closing snippet:

"What Time refused to see is an Iraqi government increasingly able to control its territory. Not completely, for then Iraqis would not have needed an air assault to capture suspects, but fundamentally, in the sense that they could go anywhere they wanted and detain whoever they purposed. Iraq is in the zone between where you needed a 500-lb bomb to break down the door -- as in 2004 -- and where a firm knock and a flashed badge would serve the purpose. The fruits of peace, no less than the sacrifices of war, need to be recognized. But as Bing West so eloquently puts it, 'unsung, the noblest deed will die'."

You might also want to check out Bill Roggio over at Fourth Rail. Roggio has been blogging about Iraq for some time, and a few months ago spent some weeks in Anbar embedded.

Really Really REALLY big! Yes, it was a headline typed in a hurry, I was really counting on it being a dupe and being erased by a mod. At least my spelling was correct!

I can only see how many posts I have done by clicking the "more' button on the main page. I know that by clicking on a user's name you can look at a list of their posts, and then YOU can count them! Did this help?

Where are we making money? I want to see more bang for my buck!

I just think we need to quit being so lazy. Heavens, if you're going to invade a country - invade the country! Don't fight this mambzy (sp?) pansy slapping fight. Unleash our military. Get in there and git 'er done!

well, it should be about us. Just my opinion.
