New UK Law: Restaurants Must Permit Gays to Publicly Exhibit Affection

Bed and Breakfasts Must Admit Homosexual Couples

LONDON – A new UK law prohibits restaurants from preventing homosexuals from public displays of affection under pain of prosecution. The same law mandates that bed and breakfasts and hotels give rooms to same-sex couples or face legal backlash.

The Department of Trade and Industry announced the new rules Monday, which also forces retail shops to grant wedding registry lists to same-sex couples. The law expands previous provisions against discrimination in the workplace to include guaranteed access to “goods, facilities and services” for homosexuals. The new rules place homosexual disposition on an equal footing with race and gender.

Trade Secretary Alan Johnson told the Times, “I want to make sure that no one gets refused a room at a hotel or a table in a restaurant because of their sexuality.”

homosexuals are no different than people who have sex with animals.

Do you really believe that?

I do not mind male and female holding hands because that is how it is supposed to be and it reinforces the "rightness" of it. Children, in other words, see the message that its ok for males and females to interact romanticly. I would no more shield them from that than I would if they observed 2 animals copulating.

But the same is NOT true of lezzies and queers. Their behavior is NOT something to be condoned or accepted or tolerated.

I can't help the fact that they are the way they are but I can certainly choose to support limits on their displays and to convey that their actions are offensive. It is simply warping to society and especially to our children to do otherwise.
Developing sexuality is a poorly understood thing. The less oportunity to sway normal human behavior, the better.

I do not subscribe to the notion that 'mos are born and can't help it. I see too many where behavior seems more likey to be the cause.

"homosexual disposition "

What is that, a new catch phrase??

UK is really anxious to have business fold up are they not? If they don't voluntarily, this is sure to effect their businesses. Sad sad sad

This stuff is like a coiled spring, sooner or later it's going to let loose.

I hope not in a restaurant.

Brandishing weapons or making threatening gestures is different than just being gay.

The gay weapon has killed far more people than any of my guns.

You aren't allowed to write "spotted dick" in a thread like this.

...and whatever you do, don't do a Google Image search

Yes, West Sussex. My constituency is so Conservative that the local MP opposed not only banning fox hunting, but changing the House of Lords.

LTM->homosexuals are no different than people who have sex with animals.

C13->Do you really believe that?

Let's see. We have some people whose mental illness causes them to desire sexual activity with people of the same sex. We also have some people whose mental illness causes them to desire sexual activity with animals.

Looks the same to me. Mental illness causes perverse sexual activity. The only difference I can see is the beastials are less likely to spread disease than sodomites are.

Also, keep jamming it down our throats and eventually we'll "grow" to accept it. Geesh!

That is an extremely unfortunate choice of words...

Oh well, I guess it's your choice to take it any way you want to. I know my mind isn't in the gutter when it was written. :)

Well, not like England was ever noted for it's cuisine, but next time I'm there I will refrain from eating in restaurants, period.

Some things are just impossible to clean off a table top.

Isn't that nice. I caught the last day of Disney Gay week a few years ago, and it was one of teh most disgusting experiences of my entire life. Having to stand in a 45 minute line behind one gay male with his hand down the pants of another gay male (in the back) was all I could take.

Checkout time!

There is a different standard for state owned facilities, like roads, public schools, etc., and those owned by private individuals. Starting in the 1930s with the New Deal, property rights have been eroding in favor of big government. If a person owns a restaurant or hotel, he should have the right to run that business without government interference except in extraordinary circumstances, such as endangering the life and property of others. Property rights are foundational to Anglo-American common law and are recognized in the U.S. Constitution, especially the Fourth Amendment.

Laws dating back to the New Deal and Great Society eras, civil rights legislation, environmental laws, and many other statutes, both state and Federal, undermine the rights to property, association, and self-defense. There is no right to be "free" from poverty or other peoples' preferences.

With respect to the matter at hand, homosexuals tend to favor "gay friendly" resorts anyway. They also prefer to live in liberal communities. They will choose Key West over Branson, and San Francisco over Amarillo. The same is probably true for Britain. Forcing hotel owners to become "gay friendly" is a restriction of their property rights and nothing less than social engineering.

That's certainly your choice. However, IMO that's not very good advice for a mother to give her children.
