This would be good news for a nation whose main export is narcotics. It would provide jobs and cash for them to rebuild there nation from a crap hole into a relatively decent place to live work and build a business in that region.

A more accurate headline is that scientists predict greater reserves. The USGS is good, but you don't know how good until you actually drill.

They've been wrong in the past.

And unlike past govt's, we are staying put til it can consolidate its army and control. And stacking up terrorists in the process. It's a beautiful thing.

See it was all about oil all along.

Cheney knew this when he was head of Haliburton. Karl Rove got some Jews to stage 9-11 so Bush/Cheney/Haliburton could occupy Afgan for its oil.

This could resurrect talk of the pipeline through Pakistan for which Blil Clinton courted the Taliban (and for which Michael Moore and the moonbats blamed Bush, of course).

This will be the best news of the month, at least. Can you imagine a prosperous Afghanistan in a couple decades? Elections, more freedom for women, coming into the 20th century, etc. A modern Islamic society may not be an oxymoron if that happens but to me this is nothing short of fantastic.
