Sheehan Cancels Trip to Europe

Activist Cindy Sheehan Cancels Trip to Europe Over Alleged Injuries She Sustained During Arrest

PARIS Mar 13, 2006 (AP)— Peace activist Cindy Sheehan has canceled a trip to Paris and other European cities because of injuries she allegedly sustained a week ago while being arrested in New York, organizers said Monday.

"We had to cancel Cindy's trip because her doctor said she was not fit to travel," said Elsa Rassbach, of American Voices Abroad, one of the groups that organized the trip. She cited an arm injury and possible concussion.

Sheehan, who gained international attention when she camped outside President Bush's Texas ranch to protest the war in Iraq, was to visit Paris on Monday, then travel to Strasbourg, France, to meet members of the European Parliament, and go on to two German cities.

A pacifist group in the United States, Women Say No to War, had claimed that Sheehan was physically assaulted by security officers during the March 6 arrests following a march to the U.S. mission of the United Nations.

Photos showed officers dragging Sheehan, with her shirt yanked up. Police said four women were arrested for criminal trespassing and resisting arrest. They were among about a dozen activists trying to deliver a petition to the U.S. mission of the United Nations urging a withdrawal of foreign troops from Iraq.

Europe's gain is the USA's loss.

I saw what appeared to be a spare tire that was wrapped around her waist during the arrest. I wonder if that caused it.

" "We had to cancel Cindy's trip because her doctor said she was not fit to travel,""

You don't suppose she was afraid of not being let back in.

You can't legally fly on a commercial jet while wearing a strait jacket?

I feel bad for Cindy Sheehan. A sore arm can be quite an inconvenience. Perhaps she will sue the cops ... pain, suffering, lost wages because she had to cancel the trip to Europe.

Poor Cindy Sheehan. She's really got it tough.

Must have happened when they dragged her away on her ass because that was where her head is.

Word on the street is that she overslept the alarm clock at Jay Bennish's love shack and missed her flight.

The arrest during which she was grinning from ear to ear?

It was probably like how she said "the President gave us the gift of happiness again" or whatever when Bush saw her, and only later did she feel betrayed.

She seems to have a lot of these dleayed reactions.

With 400 cameras following this bee-itch and her every move, how could we have missed the part where she was abused?

Nothing a little diet and exercise can't fix.

"The arrest during which she was grinning from ear to ear?"

That was weird, if you look at the telephoto picture through the door, she looks like she is pain but then outside in front of all the cameras she looks jolly.
