Trashing the troops
FrontPageMagazine.com ^ | March 13, 2006 | Gordon Cucullu

It is now becoming a repeated but no less discomfiting phenomenon in American politics that when support for the war cools, snide attacks on soldiers grow. When troops came home from Korea – never a popular war in the post-WW II euphoria - they were considered “suckers” by many for going to the war that wasn’t. Harry Truman, who sent troops to fight, denigrated the war, calling it a “police action.” From that point forward Americans gave it little attention or credibility.

As a result of intense, bitter fighting Korea in three years ate up almost as many American soldiers as Vietnam did in a decade. But upon return, soldiers found a country that had gone on without them, simply ignoring their sacrifice. Hollywood managed to make two good films on Korea – Pork Chop Hill and The Bridges of Toko-ri. The next time film portrayed Korea it was in the anti-war satire M*A*S*H. That is the only image of the Korean War most Americans hold today if they recall it at all. Little wonder veterans feel that they were in the “Forgotten War.”

Conversely, Vietnam is the war no one seems able or willing to forget. Perhaps because so many icons of yesterday’s media made their bones during the war and are unable to let go of the defining moment in their lives. Major media figures pass Vietnam on to their juniors like oral histories among Pygmy tribes, to the point that reality is glossed over in a haze of self-promoting memories. As a consequence, even thirty years beyond, every issue involving the military must still pass through their warped Vietnam lens.

Incredibly, most of the people feverishly comparing any military action the U.S. undertakes to “another Vietnam” were not born or even cognizant of world events during the actual war. Some learned about it at the knee of activist parents, others from Journalism school academics frozen in a time warp of campus leftist ideology that is constantly stuck in a 1960s groove.

The most telling intellectual progress about Vietnam made on campus for almost 40 years has been in revisionism. “We opposed the war, but supported the troops,” they tell us now. Oh, really? Then I suppose the taunts of “baby killer,” “murderer,” and “pigs” were all an exercise in intellectual protest. And the paper bags of dog crap tossed over fences at wounded servicemen lying outside on stretchers at Travis Air Force in California were, like the borrowed medals John Kerry tossed over the White House fence, simply “an expression of discontent.” Whatever, their “support” was too subtle, to “nuanced” for this returning GI to perceive.

Liberals hated soldiers then and still do. At the Clintons’ first inaugural, newly hired staffers sneered at the Air Force fighter jets flying overhead until one suddenly said, “Hey, wait a minute. Those are ours now!” Their view of the military has always been an “us versus them” paradigm. No less now than at the height of the Vietnam days when crowds chanted “Ho, Ho, Ho Chi Minh, the NLF is going to win!” and waved Viet Cong flags at the troops.

Thirty years ago we watched a spectacle of John Kerry and the Winter Soldier bunch - composed of largely fraudulent “veterans” and overt traitors like Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden – indelibly stain the honor of every legitimate Vietnam vet. Kerry’s Senate testimony paved the way for a parasitic political career constructed on the heroism, sacrifice, and dedication of men and women whose reputations are tarnished to this day by his reprehensible behavior.

The few realistic films such as Hamburger Hill and The Hanoi Hilton, were panned. Those that trashed the troops, such as Platoon, Coming Home Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now, and the entire Rambo series, were gushed over for their “gritty realism.” Never mind that the thesis was flawed, these films, we were assured, “told it like it was.” Baloney.

Despite mounds of contrary evidence each and every one of the latter portrayed the Vietnam veteran as baby-raping, murdering, fratricidal, alcoholic, suicidal, drug-besotted losers who were unable to readjust to society, reduced to living in a Kenmore box under the overpass. Exactly the story that Kerry and company have consistently promoted since the 1970s. (Actually not terribly different than the behavior of his mentor, the senior Senator from Massachusetts, except that the latter eschews the cardboard box for the Kennedy Hyannis compound.)

But liberals, ever fond of quagmires, remain sunk in their narcissist perceptions. A recent best selling book, Keeping Faith, written by Frank Schaeffer, father of a Marine from Massachusetts, detailed how shocked and stunned their circle of “Volvo driving friends” were when they learned that the young man had enlisted. They treated it as a tragedy, as if he had been stricken with a fatal disease, or involved in an awful traffic accident. “What happened?” they were asked quietly at cocktail parties. “He had so much going for him.” The implication was clear: only losers join the military.

Whenever liberals dislike or distrust anything they label it as stupid. Hence Ronald Reagan was a buffoon, Bush a moron, and today’s soldiers are called ignorant, incompetent, and incapable of finding employment anywhere other than in a military establishment that will recruit anything with a pulse as long as it will kill. It is the ultimate in sophomoric snobbery from a bunch of moral and physical cowards who are content to slop at the trough of freedom that is filled by the blood and sweat of patriots they despise.

In fact today’s soldier is a cut above any that the country has produced, including the properly honored “greatest generation” of the Second World War. The troops who bravely crossed the beaches at Normandy were young conscripts, average age 19. Few had graduated high school. They accomplished the mission given them and won the war. Today’s soldiers patrolling remote Afghan villages, crowded Baghdad streets, Columbian jungles, and Abu Sayeff strongholds in Mindanao are older, better educated, more mature, and more technologically savvy than any of their predecessors. They are accomplishing a more complex mission equally effectively. And they are winning this war.

One thing has not changed: American soldiers are magnets for children and the oppressed wherever they go. In his final book, To America, the late, great historian Stephen Ambrose noted that when “German, Japanese, or Russian armies come into a village children flee from them in fear.” Conversely, “when American GIs arrive the children run to them, knowing that they will be treated kindly and given food and candy.” It is the same today.

Several legitimate support-the-troops charities that send “care packages” to deployed soldiers find odd requests from the field. The soldiers want crayons, pencils, rulers, notebooks, school supplies, hard candies, and toys. Why? To give away to kids, of course, as they walk the streets of the towns, villages, and cities they patrol.

At a recent dinner with my friend and colleague Ralph Peters we discussed the present military personnel situation. Ralph succinctly remarked that the all-volunteer military was “good for the military, but bad for the country.” In other words, the socialization process that accompanied a conscript military had a positive effect on the country. However, the professional character of a volunteer military results in a much more effective machine for breaking things and killing people, the ultimate mission of any military organization.

Since the mid-1970s Americans have voted for the latter. It is unlikely to change at this point any time soon. But the sad part is that more Americans – including more lawmakers – are without the experience of military service than at any time in our history. It makes the military a remote, unknown, somewhat suspicious organization.

We should better know the men and women who make up the military. Take the time to learn who they are. These soldiers are your fellow countrymen, your family, friends, and neighbors. They are us.

One thing for sure, without the United States Military the stupid liberals would not have the rights they like to use to put down our Soldiers.

I am so proud of our Military. When I get a chance I always tell them....

God Bless America. I thank Him for giving us President Bush instead of Treasonous Kerry.

No better example than Hillary's refusing to allow the military stationed at the White House to wear their uniforms. You can't be more viscerally anti-military than that.

Below is from a real man, one of our finest...

Marine's Title: Working Marine

Added here: 03 March 2006

Expected to leave Djibouti: 26 Aug 2006

Where in Djibouti: Horn of Africa

Contact for approx number of Males: 5, Females: 2

Unit is from: North Carolina

Restrictions to this address: Here

From the Marine: 03 Mar 2006:

Greetings from the hottest place on earth.

This county is known for its extreme heat index. Some times it can reach as high as 140 degrees. Anything that will help hold water in our systems is great. Any goodies are appreciated.

The thing that I would like to see come in the most is baby stuff. Funny I know, but others and I volunteer at a Djiboution orphanage run by some wonderful Catholic nuns. The children are beautiful and want nothing more than to be loved. Any old baby clothes from 0-2T would be great. All baby donations would be great. This is my second combat tour in 2 years, and through all my perils I have never been so choked up as I am to see these wee ones climb up the legs of strangers just to be held and loved. I promise that all donations will find an appreciative owner. Thank you in advance. Semper Fi, Sgt Bryan A***

Can be found on anysoldier.com and so typical of our young men and women serving our country! His parents must be so proud.

Thanks for the ping, Coop. LX, nice bit about Korea in here.

I couldn't read it all, my screen got blurry.

I got a little past this, and will come back later to finish the last 3-4 paragraphs.

Every parent I know has had this happen, myself included.

GOD BLESS THE DC FREEPERS AT WALTER REED EVERY FRIDAY WHO TOOK CONTROL OF THE ENTRANCE AND GAVE PEACE TO OUR WOUNDED!

Democrats The Party of TREASON

"Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled, or hanged."
---- Abraham Lincoln

From the Code Pink Website...................

Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) met with leaders of the anti-American group Code Pink last week at the anti-Operation Iraqi Freedom meeting in Arlington, Virginia hosted by Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.)

Code Pink posted pictures of the meeting along with a statement indicating they will be working with Rep. Murtha to deliver "kindness and support to the wounded soldiers" at Walter Reed.

Code Pink has given $600,000 to the terrorists in Fallujah, participated in war crimes tribunals against America and has called American soldiers "killers" on their website among many treasonous actions.

Text of Code Pink's statement on meeting Rep. Murtha:

Thank You Congressman Murtha! CODEPINK co-founder Gael Murphy and DC coordinator Allison Yorra met with Congressman Murtha to thank him for his courageous stand on Iraq. We presented him with our pink badge of courage and pink flowers sent by CODEPINK members nationwide. Rep Murtha was very appreciative of these gestures and requested that we ask legislators to support H.J Res 73 (Murtha's resolution). He also requested that we use additional donations for the wounded at Walter Reed. DC CODEPINK along with other peace groups involved in the weekly vigil at Walter Reed recently delivered baskets of goodies to the wounded at Walter Reed. Together, with Murtha's office, we will be continuing this outpouring of kindness and support to the wounded soldiers from CODEPINK.

Terrorists Quote CODE PINK Propganda As Justification For Killing American Troops
In the recent article, “Tribal backlash against insurgents aids US in Iraq” by Antonio Castaneda reporting from Samara, Iraq published in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette Dec 3, 2005, you see the following revelation:

Last year, al-Qaida in Iraq, led by Jordanian terrorist Abu Musab Zarqawi, openly operated in Samarra, and the group's black flags fluttered from rooftops until U.S. forces regained control.

U.S. soldiers heard some Samarra residents speak openly of the right of "legitimate resistance" to the American presence.

Where do terrorists get the concept of their “right of legitimate resistance” allowing them to kill not only American military personnel, but innocent women and children in hospitals, mosques and markets?

From Code Pink, an alledged peace group that continually tells terrorists that they have a right to kill Americans, as well as innocent Iraqi women and children.

Where has Code Pink told the terrorists that they have such rights? In the “Beirut Communiqué”, the “Declaration of the Jury of Conscience” of the World Tribunal on Iraq and on the CODE PINK website.

CODE PINK Endorsement of "Resistance" in the “Beirut Communiqué”

In Beirut, Lebanon, September 17-19, 2004, the meeting was titled “Where Next for the Global Anti-War and Anti-Globalization Movements?, An International Strategy Meeting”. The “CONFERENCE COMMUNIQUE” of the Global Anti-War Movement declared:
“We support the right of the people of Iraq and Palestine to resist the occupations.”
CodePink:Women for Peace co-founder Gael Murphy is listed as an endorser of the conference and communiqué.

Right mouse click here and “Save Target As” to save the Beirut Communiqué to your disk as a PDF file. If you like.

CODE PINKS Endorsement of "Resistance" and "Acts of Desperation" at the WTI

In the summer of 2005, in Istambul Turkey, another such “people’s tribunal” called the World Tribunal on Iraq was held.

“Finding #11 of the “DECLARATION OF JURY OF CONSCIENCE” can be summarized as:
“When the armed resistance commits certain acts of desperation against the brutal occupying forces it is legitimate and justified.”
Click and page down slightly to see Finding #11 at this site

Here’s an excerpt of Finding #11 from the WTI Declaration:

11. There is widespread opposition to the occupation. Political, social, and civil resistance through peaceful means is subjected to repression by the occupying forces. It is the occupation and its brutality that has provoked a strong armed resistance and certain acts of desperation. By the principles embodied in the UN Charter and in international law, the popular national resistance to the occupation is legitimate and justified.

You can also go HERE and confirm that Code Pink, Veterans For Peace and United For Peace and Justice all “Endorse” the WTI and it’s findings.

Kill A Soldier, CODE PINK Is What Understands

Caught with their pink slips showing, Code Pink will deny that their endorsements include the killing of our troops. But make no mistake about it, Code Pink understood that it did in fact endorse killing. Another co-founder of Code Pink, Jodie Evans was a participant in the WTI. Her description of her participation during the WTI was posted at Code Pink, since removed but widely achived on left wing sites such as AlterNet.

Here is Jodie’s blog entry “Testimonials of Resistance” on how she could not kill a soldier herself, but when the terrorists do, she understands:

We must begin by really standing with the Iraqi people and defending their right to resist. I can remain myself against all forms of violence, and yet I cannot judge what someone has to do when pushed to the wall to protect all they love. The Iraqi people are fighting for their country, to protect their families and to preserve all they love. They are fighting for their lives, and we are fighting for lies.

As the photo below shows, DNC Chairman Howard Dean had no problem endorsing Code Pink by holding up their logo emblazoned t-shirts for all the world to see.

Wild Thing's comment.............
"Code Pink has given $600,000 to the terrorists" andother link HERE.
I remember when they did this an even a fraction of that would finance IEDs to kill American forces or other innocents.

Funny ( NOT) that she can say this- "We must begin by really standing with the Iraqi people and defending their right to resist. I can remain myself against all forms of violence, and yet I cannot judge what someone has to do when pushed to the wall to protect all they love.", but if GWB and his warmongering crowd (in which I proudly count myself!)do this to protect the American people, then suddenly we're a bunch of baby killers. Go figure. They get to love their families and country but we're not accorded the same belief. Oh, sorry!!! I forgot for a moment they're socialists and don't believe in allowing Americans the right of self defense and self determination

Never forget, about a year ago our soldiers on the ground in Iraq got tired of being picked off by the terrorists holed up in holy Fullajah and finally cleaned them out. Within days, Cindy Sheehan and her pals at Code Pink Cindy and her pals at Code Pink began to raise money for their "freedom-fighting heroes".

And check this out while you are at it. In the first few paragraphs you will see of course the names of Cindy Sheehan and Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney but of course. sheesh! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

United States. Resolution 1368:

Calls on all States to work together urgently to bring to justice the perpetrators, organizers and sponsors of these terrorist attacks and stresses that those responsible for aiding, supporting, or harboring the perpetrators, organizers and sponsors of these acts will be held accountable.

From Article III, Section 3 of the United States Constitution:

Clause 1: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

Clause 2: The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

And I repeat this...............

"Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled, or hanged."
---- Abraham Lincoln

If all of this isn't TREASON I don't know what the fuck is! As Clause 2 states, Congress has the power to punish traitors to America and therefore our Representatives and Senators should most definitely be strongly prevailed upon to go after these individuals and their backers. This will contionue to have my blood boiling, that "Code Pink" and other such organizations are directly aiding those terrorists who are trying to kill our servicemen and women in Iraq without any consequences here at home other than negative publicity.

A very long time ago I read a book called......"A Man Without A Country". It's been a long time ago, but I remember reading of a man who declared he "hated his country", in a court of law. He was then sentenced to life on a ship, never landing on land, and never having a country to claim as his own. It was an enlightening experience, and the man suffered unbelievably as a result. I'm sure there can be a lot of flaws found in this story, but it does makes one think a little bit more about what their country means to them and what are true criticisms, and what are selfish whinings.

"Breathes there a man with soul so dead,
Who never to himself hath said,
This is my own, my native land..."

.

Code Pink was the group at Walter Reed rejoicing because of the injured soldiers. I find it disgusting that a retired member of the Armed Forces would have his picture taken with those who rejoice at injured soldiers. I have no respect for Murtha as he has now betrayed those in Uniform.

Code Pink was founded by pro-Castro radical Media Benjamin. A communist, who wants to destroy our country. WT I love the Abraham Lincoln quote. I think it's time to start building gallows, trying traitors and publicly hanging them. Ya I'm a tad bit PO'd right now. If anyone is interested, the link below is a good source on the radical leftist groups that are trying to destroy our country.

We've been here before, in the 1960's, and I remember those days very well. Code Pink is one more clot of maggots in the broad weeping infection of The Left, and little different than its predecessors of forty years ago. We look for an American logic in this trash, and it's there, too.

Totalitarians, petty tyrants, amoral thugs and street corner dictators come in all shapes and sizes and both (or all) sexes. Years ago they were shattering windows and murdering Jews and other ethnic groups in huge numbers as an expression of some twisted internal logic. Today they inhabit The Left because they feed on the rot of nihilism and hatred there like carrior birds. Without it, they're nothing; they disappear into the crowds.

Murtha and Dean are another story. There's something slightly sado-masochistic about these two, some distortion of normal manhood. No normal, well-aligned man or woman of any political party would be identified with Code Pink without some darker urges breaking through. It's a freakshow. Always has been. History and God will have the last word.

Yeah. I think "Apocalypse Now" is a pretty funny movie. Some great scenes in it. No one but a liberal idiot would mistake it for a straightforward depiction of the war.

There are quite a few pretty stinking anti-war movies, but I wouldn't include that one.

The one that really annoyed me was "The Killing Fields." Sanctimonious reporter b*stard who weeps for all those dead Cambodians, including his faithful assistant, but never admits that he is the one who is mainly responsible for all those deaths, because he is the one who lied about the war effort and persuaded the American people that we were losing and evil and had to withdraw as soon as possible. Leaving his assistant and millions of other poor suckers to die.

Or drop lunch off at a nearby recruiting office. Not near a base or recruiter? Support great organizations like Cell Phones for Soldiers, Soldiers' Angels, or the VFW's Operation Uplink.

4 CORNER FReep #46 at Walter Reed, March 3, 2006
3/8/06 | PleaDeal

Posted on 03/08/2006 6:41:50 PM PST by PleaDeal

On March 3rd, we held ALL FOUR CORNERS of the main gate at Walter Reed for the seventh week in a row for FReep #46. The Pinkos are still holding their “vigil” waaaaay down the block and the wounded warriors and their relatives do NOT have to pass close by them to enter or leave Walter Reed Army Medical Center. We had another great turnout of FReepers and friends from the DC Chapter and beyond despite the freezing wind.

The honor roll of those hardy enough to attend (lurkers are marked with an asterisk*):

Albion Wilde, Bill* from MD, BufordP, concretebob, Coop, CindyTrueSupporter, Danang68*, Doctor Raoul, Dustin10thMountain, Fraxinus, iMacMan, IraqiKurd, Jack Deth, Justanobody, Kristinn, Navy Wife*, PleaDeal, StayTrue, tgslTakoma, Tom the Redhunter, trooprally [Mr & Mrs], WarriorNurse, and a handful of shivering but boisterous conservative young'uns. If I missed someone, please throw a brick at me in the comments!

We had coffee, hot chocolate, and tea on site that tgslTakoma graciously provides every week, and Doctor Raoul brought fresh baked Philly preztles! Despite having this great canteen, we were blown away by the thoughtfullness and generousity of the family of a wounded warrior.

We were visited by a couple of wonderful ladies and a young boy who brought us cups and cups of cappuccino, coffee, cocoa and doughnuts; and they thanked us for being out there for the soldiers in WR, and we thanked them profusely for the warmth! They were at WR to be with their husband/brother/uncle, Daniel from Ohio (4ID), who was seriously injured in 2003. He had plates put in his arm and he is going to have another surgery on Monday.

The Angel in the red jacket was incredibly nice. She asked us to sign the back of her T-shirt so she could give it to her brother after his surgery. As tgslTakoma said on the last AAR, "Please pass the word along to folks you know to remember Daniel from Ohio (4ID) in their prayers."

A bunch of us enjoying our wonderful gifts.

Coop and iMacMan holding down the Northwest corner.
Concretebob's Marine Corps flag was waiving briskly all night.

More flags whipping in the early evening.
Right: Tom the RedHunter. I think that smile was frozen in-place.

Above: CindyTrueSupporter, Jack Deth, and Concretebob.

At left: the indefatigable tglsTakoma!

Dustin10thMountain taking a respite from the wind.

A couple of wild and crazy guys. Concretebob and IraqiKurd started off the evening in the "spirit".

Danang68* and Trooprally [Mr.] manning one of the terrific banners Albion Wilde made.

Doctor Raoul holding down the flag on the SE corner.

Why are we out here freezing? What keeps these people coming back week after week, month after month, for almost a whole year? How could anyone stay motivated to jump in the car/truck after work every Friday night, drive for hours in terrible traffic, just to stand on a D.C. street corner holding a sign and a flag no matter what the weather is like?

Because it's the least we can do for these guys.

Code Pink continues to have its little "vigil" despite not having anyone to look at them. They managed to gather 8 bodies to at least make a showing.
Meanwhile, waaaay down the block... Pinkos appeared with a novel, new sign... and this poor, elderly woman in a wheelchair. They've been abusing this senior citizen for several weeks by exposing her to the harsh elements and to Perry's awful serenades.

This Friday may produce a lot more moonbats. Kristinn and Spiff attended a propaganda event presented by CodePink on Tuesday night from which Spiff gave quite a report on the creepy, hypocritical behavior of our antagonists.

After it was over, Kristinn and I went up to speak with Gael, Allison, and Jodie - the head Code Pinkos. She asked what we thought. Kristinn replied that he couldn't say what he felt because we were in a church. I responded, "Good show. It was very well executed." You'd think that I had slapped the Pinko. She was taken aback that I would express the obvious about their well crafted propaganda stunt. She said, "You don't think that we told these women what to say, do you?" Kristinn, always quick with the comeback said, "No. The Baath Party trained them well enough." I expressed a question about the "diversity" of the women in the presentation and asked why there were none of the Iraqi and Kurdish women who are grateful that we have freed them from a brutal dictator, helped them form a Constitution, and given them the freedom to vote. She blew off my comment and shoved at us the traitor mom who is dishonoring her son's service and memory. That conversation was like having a rational debate with a middle-schooler. She ran away after a minute.

Fearless FReepers continued to confront the moonbats today. tgslTakoma FReeped the Iraqi Embassy and the White House to the consternation of Sheehag et al:

I didn't get many photos, and only a bit of video, too. Short report: Kristinn, I and our friend Nofel were at the Iraqi Embassy to greet Medea Benjamin, Gael Murphy and Cindy Sheehan as they delivered their manifesto to a representative of the government of Free Iraq. As Cindy Sheehan approached the Embassy Gate to deliver the papers, Kristinn opened up on them with his booming voice, chiding Cindy Sheehan for marching with a group that is funding terrorists who are killing more American soldiers. Sheehan was stunned by the sight and sound of counterprotesters.

Cindy Sheehan, Medea Benjamin and all the rest of the usual suspects will be sure to use the opportunity to fill the ranks of anti-American freaks lurking down the block from Walter Reed's main gate, so please come out and show your support for the GOOD GUYS!

Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, and their families have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink and their ugly anti-troops agenda.

It is the soldier who salutes the flag... who serves under the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag... who allows the protester to burn the flag.

Were it not for the brave... there would be no land of the free.

Let's help our wounded heroes maintain a positive attitude. We absolutely must keep the pressure on Code Pink and keep showing the wounded troops at Walter Reed that Code Pink doesn't speak for the nation. Even Cindy Sheehan thinks it's wrong to demonstrate at a military hospital. (See Kristinn's post "Cindy Sheehan: Protests at Military Hospitals Out of Bounds (Attn: Code Pink and Veterans for Peace)".

Can you give up next Friday night at the movies to support troops who've given up limbs for your freedoms? Will you?

This FReep is rewarding, fun, and important for our troops and our nation. So come on out and make some new FRiends and thank some real Heroes!

For those of you in the DC area, we still need some additional FReepers to join us for FReeping Code Pink every Friday night, until further notice, starting at 6:30 pm and until about 9:30 pm. How about coming out this Friday? You can join us in progress if you can't make the beginning of the event.

Come help us fill All 4 Corners

Can you sacrifice an evening to honor the much greater sacrifice that the troops are making for our freedom?

As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect.

Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7200 Georgia Ave. at Elder St., NW

Patriots have all four corners of that intersection with Protest Warrior having the permit for the two corners on the West and Free Republic DC Chapter having the permit for the two corners on the East.

On street parking is usually easy to find. Location is about 6 or 7 blocks from the Takoma metro station and is walkable, but it is best if you get a ride. If you want a ride, FReepmail tgslTakoma and/or BillF (assuming his computer comes back to life), preferably with your cell phone number as far in advance as possible. We'll do our best to arrange a ride from the Takoma Metro station for you.

"Please take the time this week to thank our troops and veterans for defending what we hold so dear, our country. Take some time to visit and volunteer at a VA hospital. I know personally it would mean so much for our guys and gals"

Now is the time for all good men and women
to come to the aid of our country
and show support for our service men and women.

You do not have to be in DC to show support for the Troops.

Visit your local military base today and at least once a week.

Or a military or veteran hospital.

If you can't do that then send an e-mail or package
to our troops for morale support.

Proud Patriots -
Sending care packages,
e-mails, and snail mail
to US Military worldwide.

We need coast to coast support for the troops, now, more than ever.
