His comment for/against should have him pushing pencils in Alaska by now. He shouldn't care one way or another...unless of course if he's got some $$$ to make in the deal.
Alaska would be too dang good for him, for getting thusly involved in the political process. For better or worse, Abizaid is one of us in uniform FIRST, and he should remember that, per UCMJ, we're not to get involved in the political process when on "company time."
