The Port Deal and Race was it a factor at all(Of Course Not)
The Emirates Economist | 03/12/06 | bayourant

Did Race play a role in the Port Deal discussions? The very charge is met by the likes of Sean Hannity and others with Righteous Indigination. In fact, to mention it makes you the true problem. Mark Levin in fact called a MAjor General a dirtbag over that charge. The below cartoons may be an issue now in the UAE. They are not cartoons about that ole darn prophet however. THere will be no boycotts over these but remember still they dont help things. The cartoonist just give us what we want sometimes. From MSNBC the following cartoon. There were many others that through the glory of the net are available to all.

The member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council share common values, ones that are inimical to our values.

It doesn't matter if one state happens to be home to "good" Wahabbis-like Qatar-and only encourages terrorism indirectly, or "bad" Wahabbis-like the House of Saud-whose entire edifice of government is constructed around exporting terrorism through Islamic supremacy.

Whether it's the Shiites in Bahrain or the Sunnis in Kuwait, these people don't like us.

Period, end of sentence.

It's no secret that holdonnow is Mark Levin. But just in case the guy from the Bayou country didn't know this, I informed him via FReepmail that it was true. Also advised him to retract and apologize post haste. Instead of heeding my advice to back off, he continued the slander campaign. Thus he now swims with the fishes.

That has the ring of truth to it.

When I heard Chucky and Hitlary jump on this issue on day one, especially given that Hitlary has been trying to be low key these days, I knew:

  1. I couldn't trust any main stream reports, even on the basic facts, and
  2. Hitlary was up to no good.

I'm afraid the left if figuring out how to divide and conquer the right. Well, still knows how. That's how BJ Klinton got elected, peeling off Republican votes to Perot. They are up to it again, and it's nasty stuff.

The right thinking, determined to follow principles attitude of most folks on the right is our Achilles tendon. If the left can get an issue framed correctly, as they did on this Dubai Ports issue, then they can peel off quite a few right minded people.

That's the road that leads to the White House in 2008.

The degree to which deception and big lies permeate these debates and the news is stunning and disheartening.

Standing on principle is fine, but it presumes that ones facts are accurate and representative of the whole. That is a risky assumption.

One would be wise never to insult the "C"man...I would be doing so at my own peril.

I get cranked up at intellectual dishonesty, illogic, lazy reading and [what are in my opinion] moral failings - I have a pretty good sense of which insults have anger and revenge behind them, and which are pure fun.

Yep! And I did enjoy being called "certifiable" and a "nut". Very clever that.

Has Peter Pace or any of the other Joint Chiefs expressed anger over his remarks??

Military officers can't publicly disagree with the President without risking dismissal. You need only look back to Gen Singlaub's public criticism of Jimmy Carter regarding Korea. If they disagree with the President we aren't likely to hear about it until they retire.

...just who you were calling a mudball and that it definitely wasn't the General.

Actually, not "who," but "what."

The mudballs were things--insinuations of racism--being thrown, as in mudslinging.

Only "panic" was to see how quickly it could be turned into a polical foil for Bush....that's all the ports thing is really about. Does it give the DUmocrats enough to make hay and cause problems for Bush? The DUmocrats are really too stupid to think long-term effects of what they are doing, unless they INTENTIONALLY wish to undermine this country.

I can't speak about military conduct, but from my understanding it is against the rules. Buck Privates can earn a nice dishonorable discharge, why not a General? People should think long term consequenses before any statement to DNC presstitutes. Certainly wrong time and place for a General to be making ANY statement.

However, I did qualify it....given the lame-stream DNC has-been media's reliability on quotes, I'd not make a stink. It'd all be very respectful as we'd excpect from the CIC.

One could plan for a replacement duty station (early retirement, medical problem in the family, etc.) up for the general within a VERY short time, if rules were followed.
