What does time have to do with it? They still broke the laws of the land and are guilty of a crime. In my book they're all cowards.

I would like to shoot them, but we didn't nail Kerry when he didn't finish his USNR commitment nor arrest Jane Fonda for treason.

LoL! Yes, according to a draft dodgers father who was just arested, they are doomed! LMAO!

In 5 more mins, the results of this poll will be announced on the Global news broadcast.

It seems to be a big issue to those Vancouver lefty hippies who fled the war in the 60's to grow pot along the coast in Canada.

From accompanying article:

Abney married in 1971 and became a Canadian citizen in 1977, the same year then-U.S. president Jimmy Carter offered to pardon deserters if they applied through a special discharge review program. Abney did not take advantage of the offer.

DUH

If you don't want to get busted when you cross the border, take advantage of the pardon, dude.

Too late.

The No's won. They read the results at 71% NO. Even though it's now at 66% No.

Maybe they will revise the numbers on thei 11pm broadcast.

What about: should we arrest murders after 30 years have passed?
Should people be allowed to sue priests after 40 years for alleged sexual contact?

I thought Jimmah pardoned all those people. He gave a huge party for them after.

Or am I wrong again?

37.5 percent say "follow the law"! This is enough to save a nation and its culture. The no votes are useless do nothings that are to sacred to act.

I thought that Carter had pardoned them long ago, but on checking back I find that Carter's pardon (practically his first act as president) was only for draft evaders, not deserters. But Carter did offer clemency for deserters, and so had Ford before Carter. Apparently Mr. Abney ignored both offers.

According to Wareagle Jimmah Cahtah did pardon them. But this guy didn't have the brains to apply for his pardon at the time.

If anything, he should pay for being stupid- now that the government has gone through all the trouble of pointing it out. It sure got all the peaceniks' panties in a twist, LOL!
