From the linked article:

These questions need to be investigated. But the fact remains it was an ugly scene in Washington. Other foreign-owned companies run US ports but they were not Arab. That is the message. And we got it.

Ouch.

They rushed to judgement about the ports deal and ended up on the wrong side of issue.

You won't get reelected if you can't lead.

"I don't really have a favorite candidate right now, but I do know this: I am voting for whoever gets the nomination, even if it is McInsane or Huckabee or Frist."

"The reason? NO DEMOCRAT SHOULD GET TO APPOINT CABINET MEMBERS AND CONDUCT FOREIGN POLICY!!!"

"I implore those of you who carry grudges against one or more candidates, or who are single issue voters, PLEASE think about Biden in the Pentagon!!! No and no and no!! We have to stick together and keep this from happening!" ---

May I bold that?

That is laughable Howard Fineman has lost his mind,if he ever had one. He has been hanging out with "Spit" Mathews much too long. I think between the staccato,screaming,spitting,10 paragraph questions, and Howard's inflated opinion of himself Howie has "jumped the Shark". Whenever I see Algore on any program, speak about anything, I cannot help but think of Jack Nicholson's character in the Stephen King Novel (I believe it was "The Shining"), I could be wrong, but that sounds right. That face is so obviously mentally ill, and the voice is so bizarre and unnatural sounding it freaks me out. what in the Heck are you thinking Howard? Yikes......

It's amazing that RINO FReepers support a Ports Deal
that put money in klintoon's pocket.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1594910/posts?page=444#444

Too bad the RINO's won't allow the "white flag" ad to be run again.

Too bad the RINO's allow the likes of
hanoi kerry and cut and run murtha to
attack our troops.

I try to never say never but admit McCain pushes the envelope. The saving grace is, at least in CO, McCain would have a hard time winning any primary here. Too many people know too much about him and the baggage he carries.

Does UAE realize that not all Americans, especially American businesses, are as stuck on stupid as those in Congress?

I was kind of hoping Dubai would put something on its web site like those condolence e-mail things countries have after a disaster to accept the good-will messages of ordinary people!

While they were on the wrong side of the issue and didn't get all the FACTS, I think some of the Pubbies, with their largesse egos, actually thought they were leading. Unfortunately, their charging ahead to get in front of the Dims and and cameras and look like they were deeply concerned about Nat'l Sec doesn't make them leaders in many of our eyes, quite the contrary.

Very True. Soon they are going to realise that they eow their committee chairmanships to the President who beat history by winning all elections for them.

If my information is correct, in 2 days President is travelling to NY (of all places) & Rochester among other places to start his campaign.

Another Bush first - The torch on the Statue of Liberty, perhaps the single most famous symbol of America, is to be lit exclusively by wind power.

Germany has declined in recent years certainly in the industry I am in which is wire and cable.

I can remember in the 80s they were well respected in our industry and were looked upon as an industry model for other cable companies.

Unfortunately due mainly in my opinion to reuniting of the East and West. Many of the West German companies were "given" back their factories in the East which were old fashion and inefficient. They tried to run them but in the end many were forced to close costing the companies a great deal of money and gave Germany a huge welfare problem.

At lot of the East Germans had not been used to working in a competitive capitalistic market and found it impossible to adapt and expected hand outs from the West German government.

Incidentally and showing that the exceptions prove the rule Angela Merkel comes from the East.

Half the companies I knew in the early 80s have closed or import their goods now but in regard to payment they are still one of the best.

Thanks for the list. I agree with each of your comments too.

Like you, I'm not taking a stand on any candidate at this time. And, again like you, looking at the list I would be surprised if this is the final choices available.

I'd also add.
Condi Rice, no evidence she is considering a run and no elected experience in an election.

Newt Gingrich, promotting his positions and not a serious candidate at this time even though he's pandered to.

Thanks, I think I'll pull the trigger on the TiVo deal.

Watching HD vs Digital is comparable to Digital vs VHS tape.

Spoiled I guess but you can't take it with you. Spend it on this planet.

I rarely have any complaints... I may kick a troll here and there...or flame someone using personal attacks on my FRiends..or disrupting a thread...

but (the BIG BUTT)....

I NEVER get to really watch the shows... they start at 10:00 am here... UGH! Local programming from 9-10....(like I care about anything in Atlanta with all the corruption, etc)

anyway....I even tried going to early service this morning..so I could be home by 10:30...didn't work..service goes til at least 10:30...

I have no idea what happened on the shows.....

please don't get mad at me for whining.. I hate when other people try to be THREAD MODS... but I wish we did a better job of actually covering the shows...

I also WHOLE-HEARTEDLY admit that I am probably the WORST offender of all....

sigh...sorry...I rarely contribute much of value on this thread.. I promise to do better....

I give up where do you get all this stuff, no one can read the entire blogosphere, can they? Another Ali winner. Here's a quote form her find: relates to Valerie Plame Was Not covert, Not a NOC ever, ever. Great stuff. True cover is like your virginity. You can only lose it once. And if you've been posted in an embassy, you've lost it. Big time, with a second string cornerback named Mitch didn't even last that long.

2006 and 2008 elections will be interesting.

FReeper RINO's forget that it was John O'Neill,
and Viet Nam Vets who saved America from
hanoi kerry.

Without vital support from Independents the GOP can't win.

Karl Rove nailed it exactly

Just skimming the posts...since I am LATE again...but, not surprised to see you post this sentiment...about it being too early.

You convinced me, weeks ago...so last night, I was repeating this on other threads.
