Very well said. I won't "demonize" gay folks either. My son is gay and we agree on the fact that there are some issues backed by "gay activists" that are just not good for humanity in general.

We also have noticed how a "double standard" immediately comes into play when "gay rights" are the issue.

"...yet when gays wanted to get married, move to the suburbs and start families..."

Start families? That's impossible!

When the Lord knocks and IF you answer, He wants you to repent and receive Him as your Lord. However, He knows you're human and will have short-comings, but you repent and keep working on changing your life to conform to His ways. You don't keep sinning and think He'll understand.

This is such a lame argument.

Here's another example of liberal logic...

Sir Bedevere: There are ways of telling whether she is a witch.
Peasant 1: Are there? Oh well, tell us.
Sir Bedevere: Tell me. What do you do with witches?
Peasant 1: Burn them.
Sir Bedevere: And what do you burn, apart from witches?
Peasant 1: More witches.
Peasant 2: Wood.
Sir Bedevere: Good. Now, why do witches burn?
Peasant 3: ...because they're made of... wood?
Sir Bedevere: Good. So how do you tell whether she is made of wood?
Peasant 1: Build a bridge out of her.
Sir Bedevere: But can you not also build bridges out of stone?
Peasant 1: Oh yeah.
Sir Bedevere: Does wood sink in water?
Peasant 1: No, no, it floats!... It floats! Throw her into the pond!
Sir Bedevere: No, no. What else floats in water?
Peasant 1: Bread.
Peasant 2: Apples.
Peasant 3: Very small rocks.
Peasant 1: Cider.
Peasant 2: Gravy.
Peasant 3: Cherries.
Peasant 1: Mud.
Peasant 2: Churches.
Peasant 3: Lead! Lead!
King Arthur: A Duck.
Sir Bedevere: ...Exactly. So, logically...
Peasant 1: If she weighed the same as a duck... she's made of wood.
Sir Bedevere: And therefore...
Peasant 2: ...A witch!

The film showcased many species, from penguins to sheep, in which same-sex partnerships emerge or in which individuals have been observed to only engage in sexual activities with members of the same sex.

And then there's good old interspecies dating (just ask the sheep)! < /sarc >

I really don't care if my male German Shepard makes eyes at the Keith Doberman next door as long as he guards my house and doesn't crap on the rug.

As for me, if I am but a janitor in Heaven I will be happy - for I am unworthy of his gift. I will take what the lord gives me and be thankful.

Hear hear ChessMan.

There was an Iraqi policeman who gave his life protecting his fellow citizens during the first Iraqi elections. I have thought that if my eternity was to wash this mans feet in the name of our gracious and loving Creator I would be more than happy to do so.

Ok - I was just agreeing with someone, why not attack him first? I don't think being gay is good, but I don't believe in demonizing gays any more than other sexual deviants, divorcees, etc...

I thought the desire/ lust was a sin unto itself? I'm not a Bible scholar but I don't think gays necessarily go to hell any faster than divorced people. I'm NOT saying being gay is ok, but it's not the biggest thing I'm concerned with, spiritually. God bless!

Two of my best friends have been gay "partners" for about 8 years now. One of them is a disillusioned Christian who has pretty much lost his faith. They know I am a Christian and that I do not condone the gay lifestyle, however, they also know that I love them dearly and accept them just as they are. They have been great friends to me and even took me in and supported me when I needed some help. They are not radical in their lifestyle and are even opposed to some of the goals set forth by the gay community. I figure that they have to decide how to live their lives the same as I do and we all have to answer to God for our decisions. After the life I've led I have no room to judge them, but only to love them, as Jesus does.

Sorry, I wasn't attacking you. My comment was directed at the article and not anything you said. I must have inadvertantly replied to you post instead of the original post. Sorry.

Progressives need to stop thinking of Christianity as something against to battle against.

This article's not ready for publication yet.

My goal is to change myself to fit his values and example, not to change the rules to fit my life.

And there you have it. If the behavior of those in the animal kingdom were guidelines for human activity we would all be out killing and eating each other. Suffice it that some among us have acceded to the ethics of red in tooth and claw.
I have not noticed even one critter on Wild Kingdom espousing the ethics of Jesus, or any other religious icon for that matter. I have no doubt that sexual deviance exists in the animal kingdom. Isn't that why they call it deviant?

focus on the values of compassion and love...

Is it compassionate and loving to remain silent when you know someone is perishing?

If a person has an illness from which he will die, and I know what the only medicine is that will cure him, and I don't tell him for fear he won't want the medicine, am I compassionate? Am I loving?

No, we are not to judge, but neither are we to let people die in their sins without at least attempting to tell them of the way of escape from divine judgement provided them by Christ.

That is exactly the issue. Liberals want everyone to find sodomy lovely and something to be proud of. Most Christians could care less what homosexuals do to one another in privacy. They don't approve of it anymore than they approve of any other sin. They don't want that sin promoted to their children anymore than they want any other sin promoted to their children in the name of humanism. Humanists are free to live by whatever morals they want; but they need to respect the same right of Christians and above all else they should not ever be permitted to corrupt other people's children using state authority, i.e., public schools and the legal/political system.

Christians should develop a bill for special rights of religious freedom where liberals would no longer be allowed to harass and discriminate against Chrsitians for any reason just as they are not allowed to harass any other group they hate. We should do this now while we have power because once liberals regain power, they will really cut loose on us.

Liberals are, to me, confused.

I don't know. In order to be confused, one must first have an idea,...probably a couple of them. Clueless might be more accurate.

The world is full of polarization, bifurcation and dichotomization.

Sorry, lost me right there. Couldn't get past that first sentence.

Consider 1stCor 6:9-11. Replace the word gay/homosexual/sodomite with some of the other categories listed of those who will not inherit the kingdom of God and see if your stance is consistent.

For example substitute one of the following nouns:
Fornicator
Idolater
Thief
Liar
Slanderer
Adulturer
Effeminate
Sodomite
Covetous
Drunkard
Reviler
Extortioner

For example, let's try extortionist:

Two of my best friends have been extortionist "partners" for about 8 years now. One of them is a disillusioned Christian who has pretty much lost his faith. They know I am a Christian and that I do not condone the extortionist lifestyle, however, they also know that I love them dearly and accept them just as they are. They have been great friends to me and even took me in and supported me when I needed some help. They are not radical in their lifestyle and are even opposed to some of the goals set forth by the extortionist community. I figure that they have to decide how to live their lives the same as I do and we all have to answer to God for our decisions. After the life I've led I have no room to judge them, but only to love them, as Jesus does.

Reads like Jimmy Hoffa and the Teamsters, doesn't it?

I suspect many victims of Cosa Nostra also felt the same way.

Our Lord has provided 4 institutions for believer and unbeliever to reside within without killing each other off, volition, marriage, family, and government. Whenever an act or thinking violates one of these institutions, authority exists to control that criminal activity.

We can always forgive, but failure to act frequently mandates a loss of freedom for one or more parties. Where gays are not held accountable for their criminal activity, the society will lose its freedom in government, families, and marital relations.
