As has been well-documented by the Media Research Center, while MSMers are loathe to label anyone or anything 'liberal,' they don't hesitate to brand various entities or individuals 'conservative' or 'right-wing.' Well, folks, I believe we have a new world record in the category.
In the course of discussing the case of Colorado teacher Jay Bennish, who compared President Bush to Hitler, liberal [there, I said it] Neal Gabler on tonight's Fox News Watch managed to utter the term 'right-wing' four times . . . in 14 seconds. Yes, I checked it by my VCR timer.
Here is Gabler's record-setting rant:
"The parent, the father, went to a right-wing blog. Then they gave the audiotape to a right-wing radio show. The right-wing media flogged the story: 'it was another example of left-wing infiltration into our schools.' Then the mainstream media were bullied by the right-wing media into picking up the story."
Gabler alleged that "something that was of no interest, really, to anyone outside of the small school district is now a national story."
The reputedly conservative Cal Thomas suprisingly said: "I'm very suspect of what the kid did, and the father, immediately going to the conservative media."
Continuing the political gender-bending, it was normally liberal Jane Hall who riposted: "I thought Matt Lauer was too easy on [the teacher] saying 'were you basically set up?'
Say, you don't suppose Jane read my NewsBusters piece, Lauer for the Defense: Matt Asks Colorado Teacher "Were You Set Up?"'
Fox News Watch/NewsBusters world-record ping to Today show list.
Saw it, pathetic. Anything that doesn't reek of being left wing liberal, Gabler rants about. I've had it with him and Fox News Watch.
I happened to catch this very broadcast. Even while not really listening, while surfing the net, the number of times this guy used "right wing" was striking.
I am sick to death of Gabler.
He was MILD this evening compared to his usual behavior.
Nonetheless, he couldn't help but to describe Rumsfeld as "blustering" and the Iran maniac as "blustering."
Gabler's credentials? Media writer. Whatever the hell that entails. I know he's penned a book or two. BFD.
I videotaped the segment. Were you watching the night O'Reilly asked the host of that show why he hasn't fired Gabler yet? LOL
Yeah, I saw that. O'Reilly has Gabler's number and it's ZERO.
I missed that by O'Reilly. Gabler's performance tonight bordered on parody.
Gabler is the typical frothing-at-the-mouth representative of the hard left. He can't keep that phony broad grin he plasters on his face for two seconds. He comes comes across as being "furious" about everything. He and Phil Donahue are two peas in a pod. LOL
The less intelligent white version of Juan Williams appearing on Fox today.
Like Howeird Dean, he seems to have no clue about how he comes across.
LOL! I agree. He'd hog the whole show if permitted. Eric makes me mad because he lets Neal rave endlessly on.
Hall is a moderate and predictable lib. Cal and Pinkerton are weak sisters. Neal has nobody to bitch slap him.
O'Reilly was dead serious, too. I can't stand Gabler. If he wasn't on the show, I would watch it. He is THE reason why I don't.
Me too!! Freep-browsing while listening to Fox News. I had to stop and look up.
Gabler and Bennish are two peas in a pod, phony affability that turns into rabid fury in a split second.
I make it a point to stick up for Juan Williams. Yes, he's liberal. But I find him informed, and affable to the point of being downright sweet.
