That would be really neat. *crossing my fingers* Maybe I can. I'll find out when the time comes, I guess.

I don't know what they have in your community, but in my small community there is a Women's Republican Group that meets at a restaurant.

They often give each other rides to the monthly event.

You might want to call headquarters and see if there is anything like that in your area. Given your Blue State status, they would probably be thrilled to have a new member! ; ).

Message from Pippin
"I am so angry and frustrated at all the unnessesary critizisims of the President and I am so sick of it.

It's really sad when the only place I'm not afraid to voice my support of him is this thread.

It's getting so bad that I have to keep my TV and radio turned off to keep my sanity

I'm going to say this as loud and clear as I can"

Hope I got this right Pip?

Did you know that it was Bob's real life wife that suggested that?

He regularly credits her with it. The single most brilliant moment in all of TV history imnsho.

I laughed my head off too...for days afterwords. In fact, I STILL do any time I see it, and I already know it is coming!

The sweater comment is priceless.

I'm a newbie and feeel that way. I am trying to overcome - maybe our last posts just say it all and we are bowed to.

Or not - may we are thread killers - but if so, it must have been a sick thread that needed euthanasia!

Some of our judges are inclined to cite precedents from foreign laws. Now your practice of not opening the ballot boxes until after closing of the election is one we really should consider.

LOL. Yeah, that's it. I'm going with your explanation!

You know, I will have been here a year soon...and almost 5000 (!I need to get a life!) posts later, I'm trying to retrain myself to remember that just because I CAN post, doesn't mean I should. LOL.

Just like drugs, I was addicted from the day I began. Sigh.

"I hate to say this, but McCain simply doesn't look well . . . I really wonder whether or not he will even be healthy enough for a presidential run!

Rudy would be tough on terrorism, but terrible on the social issues, e.g., abortion/embryonic stem cells, homosexual 'rights', affirmative action, and so on.

Fortunately, we don't need to concern ourselves with 2008 yet, it's 2006 we need to worry about!"

Think George Allen.

Absolutely---not TOO often. I'm bouncing in and out on the Dose tonight. Tax season doesn't leave me much time for lurking or posting.

I love, admire and respect this president and first lady more than any other and I'm old enough to have seen a few. I had never even thought about actually seeing/meeting a president, attending inauguration, etc., until he got elected and I've wanted to see them at every opportunity. They are just so genuine. They have wealth, yet down to earth--power, yet so giving--looks, yet not egotistical----intelligence, yet so simple. They work hard, yet take time to relax. I could go on and on as I know you and many others could. They are ONE SPECIAL couple and I miss them already and they're not even gone yet. If ever I've known a more well rounded couple, I can't recall it.
