Serbia-Montenegro uses “civil war” argument

THE HAGUE -- Friday – In the continuation of Serbia-Montenegro’s defence against charges of genocide filed by Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Serbia-Montenegro legal team argued that the war in Bosnia was not a result of outside aggression, but rather, a civil war between three ethnic communities. “In no case was that war an effort by Serbia to destroy an entire ethnic group.” Serbia-Montenegro’s chief defence attorney, Radoslav Stojanovic, said, adding that during the war, over 20,000 Muslims lived freely in Belgrade. He also cited former UNPROFOR commander Michael Rose, who writes that the war in Bosnia was not “an invasion of one side, but a civil war” in which “the Serbian and Croatian sides wanted to separate and join with their motherlands.” He also added that there was never a mobilisation of forces from Serbia and that the Republic of Srpska Military was made up of “Bosnia-Herzegovina citizens” who wanted to stay in Bosnia. Stojanovic said that the goal of the war on all sides was to take and control territory that each side thought had belonged to them. Muslims believed that they had the rights to all of Bosnia-Herzegovina while Serbs and Croats maintained that the regions in which they were the majority group, were rightfully theirs, Stojanovic said.

At the Hague they are trying a man for his part in this war and if facts were known he probably was responsible for less lives lost than Bubba Clinton who sent over our planes to get his head job out of the media.

It is Serbia`s flag. Peoples dough, ofitial is just tricolor with coat of arms, but people uses tricolor with Serbian Cross on her in gold. It is cross from 1217, when first state named "Serbia" was established although there were Serbs states in 700 800 AD, and it is version of Bysantine cross.

Most of the movie Savior was filmed in Montenegro. Considering that Oliver Stone was the producer, it is a pretty balanced movie.

Oliver Stone wanted "Bad Serbs" moveie, but was convinced in balanced movie. Actualy Raped Serbian woman should be Muslim. He was charmed by one of Serbian actors who portraied Croate ustasha killing Serbs with mallott. Boris Tatic was a picture of Stone like he concidered himself to be, rough on outside, but gentle man within. He asked Ser crew about actor, is he realy like that in real life, rought monster, but they anwsered to him, "No, he is sweetest man", and most Americans concider Stone as rough bastard and Stone identified himslelf with that Serb actor.

However one defines the conflict in Serbia-Bosnia, it was not a civil war, which is a struggle between two or more parties for control of the central power of the state. The contest between Lenin and the Whites was a civil war as was the struggle between Mao and Chiang.
The Bosnians never wanted to seize power in Serbia and control the whole territory of the country. The Bosnians wished to separate themselves from the Serbs and set up their own state.

The Bosnian Serbs wished to remain Yugoslavs... if that was not possible, to separate themselves from the Bosnian Muslims and set up their own state.

The Bosnian Croats wanted to be separate and be united with Croatia. Had they not swallowed the crap clinton and the Croatian government fed them and united with the Muslims they might have gotten their wish. Instead they get the hind tit of the "Federation".

"The Bosnians never wanted to seize power in Serbia and control the whole territory of the country. The Bosnians wished to separate themselves from the Serbs and set up their own state."

The Bosnians were divided among themselves and fought along ethnic lines. The Serbs, who were about 1/3 of the population didn't want to separated, and the Croats and Muslims used illegal separation measures - including reconvening at midnight, without the Serbs aware, to declare independence.

I don't believe they even achieved the required 62% to make separation legal, but were slightly less.

Bosnia was purely a civil war between the muslims, Serbs and Croatians that lived within Bosnia. Many outsiders came to BiH to fight independantly of any organized group/s within all 3 sides.

The Serbian govt never sent troops into Bosnia, where the Croatian Govt sent their Federalized Army to Bosnia to fight both groups.

What or where is their proof of the Serbian Govt doing so? It has been confirmed by NATO that the HVO/Croatian Army was fighting outside of its borders.

If the situation existed as you described, then it is not a civil war but merely a war between factions, not so much for control of central power of the state as to pursue their own interests.

The civil war defense doesn't negate the crime of genocide. Just trying to be helpful.

I might add that it wasn't as if Serbia doesn't have its fingerprints all over the ethnic Serb moves in Bosnia. It instigated, encouraged, funded, armed, and fed soldiers to the execrable criminal enterprise.

Police units from Serbia participated in the Srebrenica massacre, for starters. Click here, and then click "listen."
