Chicago police say as many as 100,000 protestors are gathering outside the Chicago Federal Center to voice their concerns about a house bill that would tighten immigration laws. The massive demonstration has blocked many streets in the Loop.
The border security bill would make it illegal to assist any undocumented immigrant. That measure is drawing the attention of numerous groups and lawmakers on both sides of the issue.
Thousands of demonstrators gathered at the Chicago Federal Center to protest the house bill 4437. They believe the bill discriminates against undocumented residents and those who try to help them and it robs them of a chance at the American dream.

Latino businesses send workers to pro-immigrant march
Several Latino businesses in Round Lake and Waukegan are closing today or are working with minimal staff so their employees can march for immigrant rights in Chicago.

Out of this crowd, if all the illegals scooted themselves back to wherever they came from, how large would the crowd be?
Not one stinkin' picture of any counter protest, not one of Rosanna Pulido who founded Chgo Minutemen and was in attendence!
Do you know Savage is on a group for this on MySpace? ;)
We know that this issue and the WOT go hand in hand

When we attended a protest a few years ago, there where but a handful of us down by the federal building, what is it going to take for us to get this very same response on our fight?

Anywhere I can here/view you?
But they show us up with their coming together to fight
I totally disagree with such a bill.
There are numerous people who happen to be illegal who deserve a chance to have their status changed.
The lame MsM ate it up though
Not just our American dream, but our children and grandchildren's hard-won American dreams. People whose families paid with the lives of loved ones for what these people just want to barge in and help themselves to for free, and all the time acting as if somehow we owe it to them.
This is what liberalism and political correctness is doing to this country.
Don't know. What I do know is that America has gone soft, is more preoccupied with what others think about them, and has taken their freedoms entirely for granted.
I tell people that the day you quit caring what others think about you, is the day you'll be happiest henceforth! Sadly, as a nation, we're more concerned with proving to criminals, those that can't, won't, or don't abide by the law (illegals), and now an entire "religious sect" with a prolonged history of human rights abuses and suppressions, that we're more interested in proving that we're their friends than in doing what's right for ourselves to keep us and our children safe and secure.
Glad to see you back in town my neighbor and friend! We should have been there today CL was getting heard! Please check out this entire thread and thanks for your support!
There's also a line in the Godfather. Al Pacino (Michael Corleone) notes that while in Cuba, that the nation's troops fight b/c they're paid to, while the revolutionaries fight out of will and for a cause, even to the death.
While our troops are crack, internally, we're going to find out soon exactly how "motivated" other non-traditional citizens here are as well. It's just a matter of time now.
