BAGHDAD, March 9 (Xinhuanet) -- Iraq hanged 13 insurgents on Thursday, a government statement said.
The insurgents were convicted of the terrorist crimes, including murder, kidnappings and bombings, the state television quoted the statement as saying.
"They were hanged after they confessed to committing terrorist crimes resulting in the killing of dozens of innocent Iraqis," the statement said.
"Shukar Ferid, one of the hanged insurgents, confessed he was recruited to spread the chaos through killing and bombing," the statement said.
Three members of the al-Qaida-linked Islamist group Ansar al-Sunna were hanged on Sept. 1, 2005, the first executions being carried out since Iraq reinstated death penalty in June 2004.

Sweet and simple; a society still unburdened by a judicial system overborne with lawyers focused not on the truth, but on procedures utterly irrelevant to the truth and facts.
How refreshing.

We have a terrible overcrowding problem at Guantanamo. This is the obvious solution.

Good news that the Iraqi judicial system actually works.
Well done.....now moving on to the other murderers waiting for the rope.

They've got a long way to go, but they are finally getting started. Now they need to hang Saddam.

Hangings are too quick. How about if they turn these scumbags loose into a crowd of Shiites they just bombed? Let the crowd administer justice, televise it and let ever foreign terrorist know this is their fate if they get caught.

Heard on the radio this morning the the U.S. will be handing over Abu Ghraib to the Iraqis. I have a feeling the poor mistreated prisoners will be wishing they had the Americans back watching them.

Hangings are too quick. Not the way I've seen Iraqis do in the past. Instead of a quick neck-breaking drop, they tied the rope to a backhoe and hoisted the condemned up by the neck. I've read that the dance of death can last several long minutes.

Please...don't stop now. After hanging a couple of thousand of these, foreign country, terrorist SOB's - the rest might get the message.

We should start a rope donation program, and send boxes and boxes over there. Hang enough of these terrorists and maybe they will go back to Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, etc.
