WASHINGTON - More and more people, particularly Republicans, disapprove of President Bush's performance, question his character and no longer consider him a strong leader against terrorism, according to an AP-Ipsos poll documenting one of the bleakest points of his presidency. ADVERTISEMENT
Nearly four out of five Americans, including 70 percent of Republicans, believe civil war will break out in Iraq the bloody hot spot upon which Bush has staked his presidency. Nearly 70 percent of people say the U.S. is on the wrong track, a 6-point jump since February.
"I'm not happy with how things are going," said Margaret Campanelli, a retiree in Norwich, Conn., who said she tends to vote GOP. "I'm particularly not happy with Iraq, not happy with how things worked with Hurricane Katrina."
Republican Party leaders said the survey explains why GOP lawmakers are rushing to distance themselves from Bush on a range of issues port security, immigration, spending, warrantless eavesdropping and trade, for example.

I have a source, it is called a memory. I am sure others on this forum remember as well. As for a source I can link to, I probably could find one but feel no urgent need to do so. Ok, I wasn't demanding a source, just asking if you knew of one. I only asked for my own edification, because as a big fan of Reagan I cannot remember him making such a statement.
I too am against amnesty, but have never heard Bush propose it. Others call the guest worker idea amnesty, but I just don't see it as such.

TY for posting this proof of the bias's. On Feb 27th and 28th, I had done a poll on my own using cold calls and using out of the air area codes, thank goodness for VOIP. After at least 300+ numbers, I spoke to 50 people, 26 who claimed they voted Bush and 24 who voted Kerry (yes, I designed it that way to reflect the election result). There were was no one who didn't vote that I polled (so they say?). I asked 3 questions, more often than not agree with Bush, about the same and more often than not disagree with Bush since the election? My results were 19 more often than not agree, 17 more often than not disagree and 14 about the same. I then multiplied the number by 2 and divided equally "about the same" and the results are 52% Approval for Bush and 48% Disapproval and to my amazement the results were the same as the election results. In other words, I wasted my time to come out with the same results we knew a year and a half ago. I know the MSM would call my poll flawed but I figure it's equally credible as theirs.

glad to know that you have conversations with Reagan and that you KNOW what he would think. You clearly sir don't have a clue about Mr. Reagan if you think I would have the need to "talk" with him in order to know what he would say over this situation.
R. Reagan's number #1 rule which he adhered to throughout his career - Never speak ill of a fellow Republican (especially so to a Republican trying to lead).
And there is nothing idiotic about my post whatsoever. It is called reality. Deal with it. If you can't you're the fool who must resort to silly posts such as yours (where the premise itself is false).

What happens when the antique media gets the number to less than zero? Does Bush then turn into Kerry?
They did the same thing to Reagan with the Iran Contra bogey man, but this time the alternative media isn't playing along.
Note the parrot speak in the article.
Me I am unhappy with Katrina, that dumba$$ mayor should have walked the plank long ago, followed by the Governor and the reporting about Iraq is atrocious -- there is only so much news you can get from a stringer.
Odd we don't have the same kind of problems with hurricanes in Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, and Texas that they do in Louisiana.
I note the rush of polls come out just after the antique media stages a weeks on series of lying articles.

You obviously don't know didly about Reagan if you think he would have approved what the sell out big government Republicans are doing now. You sir, are a blind fool who has sold yourself for power.
The repubilcans have morphed into the big spending democrats. Have fun following them off the cliff.

The repubilcans have morphed into the big spending democrats. Have fun following them off the cliff. As a % of GDP we are spending virtually no more now then we were in the 80's (facts matter) - And whether you like it or not.....Reagan spent big time during his 8 years -

Thanks for confirming that you are a democrat in republican clothing and that you'll justify the waste that this current administration is engaged in.
You are no better than the clinton apologists.

With this type of sample error, you can't call this a scientific poll. What is even more frustrating is this poll, which must have been scrutinized by the MSM, has not mentioned the problems with the poll. And, for that matter, the original CBS poll, which started this poll frensie, has never had its sample error questioned.
It seems as if these polling agents are catering to the MSM and the DemonRATs to throw out unscientific polls that do political advantage to the Republican Party. They now know they can run a poll with biased questions and biased population samples knowing that the outcome is all that matters because it can be used for political ammunition against the Republican Party. They know that the MSM will keep tight lips about their unethical methods and never have to be called to account. I wonder if these polling agents are getting their pockets filled with lots of DemonRAT money? George Sorros money?

This means the end of his political career. What will he do in '09?

But you're a Bushbot, you're not following the way of the True Republican, i.e. sit on your hands in November to "Send a message about immigration!" REAL Republicans don't support President Bush! /s.o.
Good post. I hope some of the SAVAGE!Weiners around here read it and take it to heart.

Do you approve of the job he is doing? I don't and I voted for him twice and worked my rear end off going door to door to get him elected. He has lost me over the issues of illegals and out of control spending (would a veto kill him?). And i'm not too happy about things like CFR and the new drug benifits. Lets face it, he hasn't been at all true to his promises. He is a weak kneed elitist RINO like his father. I hope he's the last of the clan to run. I don't want to see Jeb in 08 or ever. I'm done with the family.
