ARTICLE SNIPPET: "WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Two girls provided high school officials with a tip that led police to charge four boys with planning a lunch-period massacre, the school's interim principal said.

Authorities have said the boys — ages 14 to 16 — planned to attack students, teachers and others at Winslow Township High. Their names were not released because of their ages."

I can understand why you feel that way, but I look at it differently. I see it as the jihadis being so poorly trained that they don't know to use the right arms...thus wasting the arms that they do possess.

The SA-7 through SA-18 manpads are wholly unsuitable for bringing down big birds. There was one commercial jet hit by one of those weapons back in 2003 or 2004 and the pilot landed with no casualties...plane was repaired and flew again. 5 pounds or less of high-ex isn't going to bring down very many 50,000 pound aircraft (much less larger birds).

The soviets only built them as nuissance weapons...just to give our jet pilots a 2nd thought about flying low.

But by firing at a jet, the jihadists wasted a missile that could have caused U.S. casualties in a helicopter...so I see this as a good thing for us.

Let them waste their ammo; it's good that they don't know any better.

IDF kills leading terrorist

IDF troops operating in the Bethlehem area Sunday afternoon killed a senior wanted terror suspect, Jaber Ahras, who among other attacks was responsible for one that left two IDF soldiers dead in 2003.

Ahras headed a terror cell planning to fire rockets at a Jerusalem neighborhood. Five cell members were detained by security authorities in February.

In the past, Ahras acted on behalf of the Fatah's military wing, but recently he was cooperating with the Popular Resistance Committees. Palestinian sources said Ahras headed the Resistance Committee's entire West Bank rocket infrastructure.

A spokesman on behalf of the Salah al-Din Brigades, the Committee's military wing, vowed to avenge Ahras' killing.

Forces belonging to the elite Duvdevan (Cherry) undercover unit encircled a building used as a hiding spot by Ahras east of Bethlehem. Troops called on the suspect to surrender, but at one point he left the building and charged at troops while firing at them.

The forces returned fire and killed Ahras. A Kalashnikov rifle was later recovered from his body.

Ahras was responsible for a shooting attack at a roadblock south of Jerusalem that killed IDF soldiers Shlomi Balski and Shaul Lahav on November 18, 2003. The killed terrorist was also involved in the planning of rocket attacks at Jerusalem's Gilo neighborhood and was responsible for initiating attacks in the Bethlehem region.

Overall, the past weekend has been one of the stormiest in recent memory, with 17 Palestinians, most of them terrorists, killed in IDF operations in the Gaza Strip.

As Tegan Wagner stood outside the NSW Supreme Court last Wednesday surrounded by a media scrum, as she named herself and declared victory over the men who had raped her, the deeper story of her trial was more disturbing.

On the other side of the lobby, while Tegan urged other victims to emerge from the shadows of fear and shame and report sexual assault, the mother of the second victim in this case was sobbing. "It's so insulting," she said of the judgement delivered 15 minutes earlier.

The sentence was the latest in a slew of judicial insults to rape victims delivered over the past five years as a series of gang rapes worked their way through the legal system.

Six months ago, Tegan told me she expected Justice Peter Hidden to deliver a light sentence in her case because the Pakistani brothers who raped her were already serving long sentences for other rapes. "He's a soft judge," she said. She knew what she was talking about.

This was the latest in a string of recent cases where judges have treated rape victims as cannon fodder. It is worth recalling the worst excesses because they help explain why only one in 10 of the 7000 sexual and indecent assault incidents reported to NSW Police each year results in someone being found guilty in court.

Every one of these instances worked against the interests of the victims. Every case involved Muslim defendants and non-Muslim complainants, thus compounding alleged sex crimes with hate crimes. These cases represent the apex of thousands of instances of sexual harassment, or worse, in Sydney.

"Rebels say take three towns in southern Chad"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "N'DJAMENA, April 9 (Reuters) - Insurgents sworn to ousting Chad's President Idriss Deby attacked an army base in the remote southeast on Sunday and said they had taken two other towns in what the government said was an attempt to derail May elections.

An alliance of nine Chadian guerrilla groups, the United Front for Democratic Change (FUC), said it carried out the attack on the town of Haraze Mangueigne, close to the borders with Sudan and Central African Republic, and said it had also taken control of Am Timan and Abou-Deia further northwest.

"This is only the beginning -- our morale is very high," Abdel Rahman Abdel Karim, one of the rebel FUC leaders, told Reuters by phone. He said the fighting had lasted one hour with only four men injured and that 50 prisoners had been taken.

Chad's government said in a statement it had sent army reinforcements to the Haraze Mangueigne garrison to try to overcome the attackers, but made no mention of the other two towns or of any casualties."

This Public Announcement updates information on the continuing threat of terrorist actions and violence against Americans and interests overseas. This supersedes the Worldwide Caution dated August 2, 2005 and expires on June 12, 2006.

The Department of State remains concerned about the continued threat of terrorist attacks, demonstrations and other violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests overseas. Ongoing events in Iraq have resulted in demonstrations and associated violence in several countries. Americans are reminded that demonstrations and rioting can occur with little or no warning.

Current information suggests that al-Qa’ida and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks against U.S. interests in multiple regions, including Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. These attacks may employ a wide variety of tactics to include assassinations, kidnappings, hijackings and bombings.

Extremists may elect to use conventional or non-conventional weapons, and target both official and private interests. The hotel bombings in Jordan in early November illustrate how terrorists exploit vulnerabilities associated with soft targets. Additional examples of such targets include residential areas, business offices, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, schools, public areas and locales where Americans gather in large numbers, including during holidays.

In the wake of the July 2005 London bombings and the March 2004 train attacks in Madrid, Americans are reminded of the potential for terrorists to attack public transportation systems. In addition, extremists may also select aviation and maritime services as possible targets.

U.S. citizens are strongly encouraged to maintain a high level of vigilance, be aware of local events, and take the appropriate steps to bolster their personal security. For additional information, please refer to “A Safe Trip Abroad” found at http://travel.state.gov.

U.S. Government facilities worldwide remain at a heightened state of alert. These facilities may temporarily close or periodically suspend public services to assess their security posture. It is a prospect that terrifies bioweapons experts: Terrorists release smallpox into an American city, spreading sickness and panic. Because the disease is untreatable and vaccines no longer exist, first responders and other emergency personnel would be particularly vulnerable.

A new invention, however, may help to avert the worst of this worst-case scenario. Aethlon Medical, a small San Diego biotech company, is developing a portable device that removes viruses from blood. Known as the Hemopurifier, it filters not only smallpox but numerous other viruses, including Marburg and Ebola.


The Hemopurifier resembles a shrunken dialysis cartridge, the rolling-pin-size device that purifies the blood of patients whose kidneys have failed. Both use a filter to remove toxins from blood. But unlike traditional dialysis, the Hemo-purifier also includes plant-derived antibodies, such as cyanovirin, that bind to a variety of viruses and eliminates them from the bloodstream. The plant solution can be modified to weed out even genetically engineered germs.


Aethlon has built two versions of its device. One, a foot long and an inch wide, is designed for use in hospitals; the other, the size of a large pen, is meant for use in the field. Both types attach to a pump. But the portable version could work without one, using the patient’s heart as the engine to force blood through the filter [see illustration above]."
