The Most Important Fact Congress and Illegal Advocates Have Overlooked, Or Ignored
(AP) CANCUN, Mexico AP) - President Bush has reiterated his belief that strengthening border security enforcement in the United States is a high priority.
"I'm concerned about what's not being done by the government hasn't been done, apparently," said J. Glenn Sorensen, a retired school administrator now living in Flagstaff.
Sorensen, who was not involved with the Minutemen last year, said he thinks the organization has accomplished part of its intended purpose already, "to draw national attention to an insecure border. I don't think anybody wants to close the border I certainly don't basically I think they need to be secure."
About 150 volunteers had gathered by midmorning Saturday, with organizers expecting several hundred more. The group says it plans similar exercises along the border in California, New Mexico and Texas, and along the Canadian border in Washington, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York state.

Maywood is 97% Latino. You can hear the Spanish tones on every street and on every radio station.
Familiar strip malls are peppered with signs such as Clinica Latina, Pescaderia and Agua.
But Maywood is a trend setter. In the midst of an intense national debate about immigration the city council has officially declared Maywood a safe haven for illegal immigrants.
At a weekly immigrants' support group meeting there is a sense of purpose in the air.
It is chaired by the driving force behind the controversial decision, Maywood's deputy mayor Felipe Aguirre.

FLORIDA CITY, Fla. (AP) -- Officials inspecting a South Florida nuclear reactor found a small hole drilled into a pipe that helps maintain pressure, and investigators were trying to determine why it was there, Florida Power & Light said Saturday.
The 1/8-inch hole was discovered late Thursday during a series of inspections and tests performed before bringing the reactor back online, the utility said.
The plant was in no danger, FPL spokeswoman Rachel Scott said.
The reactor, one of two at the Turkey Point plant in Miami-Dade County, had been shut down for a routine refueling, she said.
FPL, the state's largest electric utility, repaired the damaged piping and, though the company's investigation continues, plans to bring the unit back into service in about a week, she said.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission and FBI are also investigating

JAKARTA, Indonesia -- Indonesian police increased security throughout the country Sunday in response to a warning of a possible terrorist attack issued last week by Australia and the United States, police officials said.
Australia and the United States had warned their citizens living in Indonesia that Sunday was a potential date for a terrorist attack in the country, possibly directed at Western targets. Indonesian authorities said they had no specific information of a possible attack and the security measures were precautionary.
"So far we do not have any intelligence or indication of a terrorist attack plan," said National Police Chief Gen. Sutanto.
National Police spokesman, Brig. Gen. Anton Bahrul Alam said tourist destinations, embassies, shopping centers and foreign housing blocks were priorities for increased security measures.
